This is a good scratch mat option that is more affordable than some of the others. The mat is soft and flexible, allowing it to easily be installed on something curved (like a post).The mats are smaller than I had anticipated, so they seem more fit to a goat rather than a horse. However, if you order multiple sets, you could make the setup large enough for a horse to use.The screws that come with the mats are super tiny. I opted to use my own screws instead of risking having screws falling out into my animals’ pen.Overall a really great and affordable option for smaller farm animals!

This is a softer texture than other scratching options. It’s not a bristle feel nor a hard plastic needle texture. Instead there is give to each raised node. What’s nice is different animals like different types of scratching. This is a more gentle surface but still allows the animal to rub up against it. The hardware included are fairly small screws. I used the ones included but can’t help but wonder if I should have used longer, heavier duty ones instead. If it turns out these don’t hold I figure I can go back and do it with different ones. But the convenience won out with the added screws. The mats are fairly large but for an even larger scratching surface, doubling up is simple to do. Otherwise you can have two separate scratching zones.
