Had bought this to make carrying a heavy unwieldy gym a little easier, but this strap is definitely suited more to a golf bag, or something that is carried at an angle. The strap does extend to a little over 50" but the padded section lies closer to one side than the other. Solid heavy duty clasps.

I am a petite woman. I replaced the strap that came on my golf bag with this one. As a result, my golf bag was easier to carry and the weight was distributed more comfortably. Highly recommend.
