So much of the leather balm/wax on the market is full of chemicals and silicone - fine in the short term and give consistent results, but bad for leather long term. Mink oil is great if you're looking for something natural that won't darken leather too much (it will deepen most colors a little but so many other common ingredients darken leather MUCH more drastically - mink oil has the minimal affect on the color of anything I've tried). Mink oil to moisturize and condition the leather, beeswax to protect - everything you need, nothing you don't. I make my own balm for my leather pieces, but it contains sweet almond oil and lanolin, which some people could be allergic to, so this is my go to product for treating my leather work before packaging it up and sending it to my customers; I recommend it to my customers if my handcrafted balm may give them a reaction.

I have recently finished covering the seat and back of a brownish vinyl gaming chair using PU leather. I just wanted a more comfortable feel than the vinyl had so I didn't cover every part. The color of the PU leather is black. I used the black STARTSO WORLD balm to make the chair all one color and to hide blemishes in the vinyl that I had left uncovered.This was the second chair I've covered and recolored. On the first chair I used balm from a 10oz. jar of a competing vendor. They both cost about the same per ounce and had identical consistency - just a little thicker than hand cream. Application was easy. I doubt it took even 10 minutes for the gaming chair although I had a little bit of cleanup to do afterwards because I touched parts of the chair with balm that should have remained untouched. Cleanup was easy and probably quicker than if I had taken the time to tape off the areas. Do wear gloves. It's not all that difficult to wash it off skin but it takes a while to dig it out from under fingernails.The drying time was pretty quick. In under an hour it was dry enough to wipe down with a clean rag. Very little came off on the rag indicating that the balm had permeated both vinyl and PU leather equally well. The only difference between the two different balms was that this one was still a little tacky the following day. It was dry in that no black rubbed off but tacky. So I used a hair dryer on it for a couple of minutes and a little conditioning cream and the tack went away.The product's description on Amazon claims a dry time of 20 minutes or only a couple of minutes using a hair dryer. The instructions that come with the product do not mention using a hair dryer and say the dry time takes 24 hours. That's a little confusing but maybe both are true in that the tack may have gone away had I waited another 8 hours. Regardless, this is a fine product at a fair price. It blended the black and brown in just one coat and I'm sure I'll be using it on other projects. The 12oz. jar has enough left for probably more than 5 additional chairs.

Awesome conditioner bought new boots and they were completely dried out and first thing I did was use this conditioner and man what a hydrating difference it made! Awesome paste and even better price! Highly recommend used both on brown leather and black leather!

I wasn't sure about this Balm due to the price, but it is everything I hoped it would be. I have a cat that likes to scratch on the furniture. He has 2 of his own but he likes the furniture. However, This Balm was great. It not only hid the scratches but evidently he didn't like it. Served two purposes. I would defintely buy it again.

This kit saved me having to buy a new couch. My picture shows the headrest with a single coat and the green square highlights a slightly damaged area I missed for some comparison (I somehow lost my 'before' pic). I am going to apply another coat and try polishing once my mink oil arrives.What you don't see is how bad the headrest was ~ completely raw and brown in the center.The camera does not do this repair justice ~ in person there is only a very slight color and texture difference between the original black and what this recolor has already accomplished (instructions say a second coat can improve results).I am happy to recommend trying this product out before deciding if your leather is truly shot. I wasn't looking forward to shopping for a new couch and thanks to this product, that chore can wait at least another year.What I like ~• Kit comes with several accessories that help work the cream in.• After just one pass, there was a significant improvement.What I don't like ~ (no deal breakers)• While drying, there is a slight odor.• I can't tell when it is finally dry. Just have to wait long enough without messing with it.• Kit does not come with 'everything' you need. e.g. Mink oil and polishing cloth(s).
