Smithcraft 18/8 Stainless Steel Measuring Cups and Measurement Spoons Set (Siliver: 6spoons+1ring)

I bought these to replace some old plastic traditional style measuring spoons, one of which was cracked, also because the rectangular design should fit into spice jars. When they arrived I thought that they looked quite large compared to my other spoons and so I tested them using precision jewellers scales. As I suspected, there is a significant difference in the measures. Using table salt as the standard, a level teaspoon from this set weighs 9.6 grams compared with a level teaspoon from my traditional set at 6.92 grams. The rest of the set is similarly generous in size. The difference might not be important in general cooking but could alter the results in bread baking, for example, where inaccurate amounts of yeast and salt could make a significant difference to the end product.

Good for measuring out dried herbs/spices retailed in narrow topped jars - such as ‘Schwartz’ brand.Easy to clean in hot water if using for liquid condiments/sauces measures.Entertaining for the new potential cook! My GtNephew who is currently learning to cook scones at school has found them useful.

I bought these because I wanted an oblong shape measuring spoon to fit into small spice jars. I hate having to shake spices out precariously onto a spoon that is too wide to fit in the jar. Anyway I thought they were pricey when buying but when they arrived I could see why. The weight of them alone spoke volumes. They are so sturdy and have unusual measurements like 1/2 a tablespoon. Would definitely recommend. These are a kitchen item that would last a lifetime and more.

I like the long handles useful in getting the last ingredients out of jars. Quite heavy to hold though for anyone with weakness in hands

Was using ceramic spoons to measure for a few months but after breaking one pair and nearly breaking another, i wanted a steel type what i couldnt accidently shatter. These are perfect, easy to read measurements and lightweight steel.

The right shape for getting into narrow jars/packets. Robust and easy to use.

The only critisism I have for these spoons is that the size can be a little dificult to see.

Having only had these for a month I can't yet confirm the durability but have no complaints yet, the rest: easy to use easy to clean and exactly what I need.
