A catalogue that's worth buying and keeping
Very beautifully made, perhaps the format is a little bit too large for my taste (but then it means the photographs and pictures are also larger, which is very plesant). When opening it at first, I was slightly disappointed that it doesn't contain much pictures about her interior design's work, although it makes sense considering that it's the catalogue of the exhibition of her paintings. I guess I will have to buy a book about Charleston to see this other aspect of her artwork.Apart from that, the book seems really interesting, full of beautiful paintings to observe and quite a few rarely seen photographs of Bell and her peers. The essays seem to be very interesting as well - I've noticed that they are quite short, which can be convenient if you're not used to read about art and paintings in general.Overall, I would strongly recommand this book if you want to broaden your knowledge about Vanessa Bell and have a first approach as to the artistic side of the Bloomsbury group.

A very fascinating book. I thought I'd read practically everything about Vanessa Bell and Virginia Woolf, but there were events and insights new to me in this one, probably because it was written about Vanessa Bell as an artist, not "sister of" or "member of Bloomsbury group." It's fascinating to see her evaluated as an artist, even though I understand why her life story has a fascination of its own. Looking forward to being in England and seeing the exhibition this book is to accompany.

Lovely souvenir
Really special book. It is a catalogue to an exhibition and the chapters are by contributors to that exhibition. The layout and images are very good quality.
