CHAUVET DJ (Hurricane 1302)

I have purchased 2 of these on Amazon. Neither is working now. The first one (the 1301 model) stopped working after 3 years. I only used it on Halloween and after every season I followed all of the instructions for cleaning it and storing it away until the next Halloween. On the 4th Halloween (3 years since purchase) it did not work. I believe it was the pump that stopped. I read other reviews stating this was an issue and that the new model (the 1302) potentially fixed this issue. As I was way out of warrantee (3 years) and I really did like it when it worked, and because I thought the new model likely would have a better pump, I decided to purchase another one for Halloween last year. I bought the 1302 model. Well that was a huge mistake.We only used it for two nights last Halloween, I cleaned and stored per the directions, but this year when we wanted to used it in the back yard for spooky movie night it would not work. I can hear the pump that seems to be working but no fog comes out. I spent some time trying to troubleshoot (I'm pretty technical) and even tried to use the manual fog without the remote, but no luck. Tried to clean it again, but it will not suck in the fluid anymore. Again I followed all of the directions closely especially given what happened to the first one. Of course by the time I tied it this year it was just over a year old and out of warrantee.Its really frustrating to have this unit fail after only 1 year and 2 uses, especially when its the second one I have purchased. And these are quite expensive fog machines.I've learned over the years that its better to spend more money to get good products that last, but that is not the case here. This one is expensive and when it worked it was amazing, but these CHAUVET fog machines just do not last. They really need to improve the quality/longevity of these units if they want to charge this much.Save yourself some money and buy something else. Its a real bummer when you have friends over or if you are having a family night and you get out your fog machine and nothing happens.

My use is around home, yard, garage, etc for amusing ourselves at Halloween, parties etc. the machine is sturdy and can really hose out the fog! It does take a good long time for the fog generator to heat to working temperature which the manual fails to mention and being new to fog machines I initially thought it was defective because nothing was coming out. Comes with a sturdy ceiling mount bracket. It is awkward emptying the tank at the end of a gig and if machine were ceiling mounted would be a real pain to empty and fill. This model is obsolete which the seller failed to disclose. Manufacturer’s website has minimal support.

I set this up per the instructions for Halloween decor. It takes a few minutes to warm up and then it spews out HUGE volumes of thick fog. I had to turn it almost all the way down and it did a great job of laying down thick fog across my entire front yard and front porch.Exceeded all of my expectations and the price is quite fair. Thank you for a quality product.

I have used multiple fog/smoke machines in the past and the Chauvet brand is just fine. If you’re reading reviews of people saying that they are garbage, they clearly have never used fog or smoke machines. You can not “cut” the fluid with water, it causes impurities to break the machine. You have to use high quality fluid from the brand, or similar to make sure the machine works well. The 1302 works well and puts out a ton of fog. The continuous output option is great. The timer included works well and the machine does exactly what it’s designed to do, fog. Use good fluid or the machine will get clogged up. Beware of garbage fluid, spend the money and use good fluid from premier brands.

This fogger is soooo much better than the ones you find at the Halloween stores! And the fact that it has a remote to control when it fires and how much fog is released is awesome!! Now if we could have an evening without hurricane winds would be great!! Very happy with our purchase!!!

This runs great and I recommend it highly, but, why is there a huge bump on the tank that prevents it from being lifted out? To dump the tank, you have to turn the whole heavy machine upside down.

The media could not be loaded.  This machine has been what I need it's not everything I want. I'd like DMX control, but for the price and the abuse I've put mine through, you can't beat it.

Bought for halloween and it really did a great job. Can completely obscure my front yard if left to run too long or to produce a lot of smoke. Used as part of a cemetery scene - lots of great reviews. Used later for a Holiday Float....worked great too! Be sure to maintain it, clean it, and as needed use a cleaner on it so it lasts.
