READ THIS BEFORE YOU ORDER
The filter arrived exactly as described and seems to be of good quality. Around 1m length of 5mm tubing and a check valve included :-). The only negative is that it does not allow for a bubble stone to be attached. I modified mine so that I could attach a bubble stone and it works perfectly and looks better, and sounds quieter than as supplied.

Fine
Seems to work fine. Bought for my Betta as they don't like fast flowing water. Works. Easy to put together. Bit flimsy and price doesn't seem quite worth it but does the job.

Excellent quality - value for money
These are well made sponge filters, seem solid and up to the job - they are big! About the diameter of a saucer. A good tip- if you find when you first put it in the tank that it starts floating to the top just give it a few good strong squeezes in the water and it will soon sink to the bottom, they have a good heavy base. Will be buying more of these.

Sponge filter
This sponge filter is ideal for my 30l cube. Was easy to set up and produces plenty of bubbles without being noisy. I have betta fish so I'm letting it cycle for a few weeks with good bacteria before turning off the more powerful filter. The base has a good weight to it so sank straight away

Completely useless as a filter!
It's not expensive, but it's worthless anyway. Bought after seeing so many positive reviews, but can't for the life of me understand why they are there. Bubbles come out of the top, but no poo gets sucked into the sponge at all. In my second picture you can see the poo lying on the sand right next to the sponge! If I watch particles floating by the sponge in the water, they completely are unaffected by it. I wondered if I'd done something wrong, but it's so simple a gadget that it's virtually impossible to make a mistake.I cannot possibly recommend this as a realistic option to help keep your tank clean. If there is some special trick needed to make it work, it's not evident to me and I've been keeping fish for a long time.Update... at least the seller's customer service can't be faulted. After guiding me to try what is already tried, they offered me a return and refund. Thank you, though I'd have rather had a properly working filter!
