I don’t know how I could do without these now. They make it to easy to transfer dough from the counter into a Dutch oven for baking. The oval one fits my Pampered Chef Deep Baker just perfectly.

I use it very often and wash it and not a problem

This sling doesn’t really work for me. At this point parchment paper is actually easier. I’m new at this sourdough business but the sling is too narrow in my opinion. I’m going to go back and see if there’s a wider one. It’s very difficult for my sourdough, not the plop over both sides of the sling on its way to the Dutch oven.

Wow! This is great way to save your fingers from getting burned trying to remove a loaf of bread from a Dutch oven. We love sourdough bread and I always make it in my cast iron Dutch oven which remains hot for a long time. I hated burning my fingers to get the bread out of the pan so the crust didn’t get too hard. These sleeves work great! They allow you to lift the loaf out of the pan without sacrificing your fingers, they are easy to clean and they are economical! That makes them a great purchase if you are a baker!

I was a bit skeptical but silicone sling does make it easier to get home baked bread out of my crock. You simply lay it across the bottom of your bread pan, place the dough ball in the center and bake as usual. I ran a slim knife down the side of my bread pan then grabbed the two ends of the sleeve and my bread lifted cleanly out of my pan. The sleeve did not stick to the load and a little soap and water easily cleaned it off.

I bake homemade bread. You need to preheat the cast iron pan in the oven. I used parchment paper when baking sourdough bread. However, the paper burned after baking, and I sometimes got burned when I took the bread out of the pan. Using a silicone handle baking sheet like this one makes it easier to remove the bread. I will never get burned again. There are several similar products, but this one has holes so that you can hang it up to dry after washing it after use. The hole also makes it easy to pull out when grabbing with a glove. This is an oval shape, but it could be used for round bread as well.

I really like this sling. I thought it would also work well in a round baker, but itʻs too wide on the longer sides of the oval and makes wrinkles where the oval doesnʻt lay flat. Itʻs actually a little too wide for my oval baker on the short sides, but those lay down nicely up the sides. Iʻm getting the round one to lay flat in my round baker now. Highly recommend this sling, but measure your pot or baker first to ensure it lays flat in the bottom.

Instead of baking my bread in a traditional round cast iron Dutch oven, I sometimes like a more oval loaf. It is generally better for sandwiches.I have a sling similar to this that is for the round Dutch oven, but I struggle a bit trying to use it in the French oven.If you have ever made the pretty popular NY Times no knead bread, that is the style of bread I am baking but I know it would work great for other breads too, like a sourdough.Anyhow, this is exactly what I needed for the French oven. If you like to bake that style of bread, you know you have to preheat the entire hunk of cast iron in the oven before you put your bread in it. This little sling will save you burns and frustration. I never bake bread without one. Easy to lower it in, easy to lift out immediately and no real danger of burning yourself.For the price, this is a really good pick up.
