Great results, Super bright finish on old copper pipes.
So far i've been really happy with this ultra fine wire wool.Over the last month i've only got to us this wire wool a couple of times, but the times i've used it was in work to help me polish up the copper pipes where i want to connect my earth clamps, so i can get a really good connection as the pipes are often oxidised & a little grubby. The wire wool is really fine so you can get a super bright finish on the copper pipework although i'd imagine you'd also get similar results with other metals too.Overall i've been really happy with this wire wool so far.You actually get quite a lot of wire wool in the pack so this should last me ages as i don't need to use it on every job. However when i do need to pick up some more i'll definitely be buying this again as it worked really well, although i'd probably go for the two pack next time around as its only £10.79 at the time of writing & offers the best value for money out of the two.

No scissors and gloves!!
The description says that this roll of wire wool comes complete with scissors and gloves to protect your hands when using it, but all I received was a roll of very expensive wire wool. I can get DIY wire wool a lot cheaper but I'm guessing that the extra cost is because this is super fine and marketed as rodent repellent. I've never thought of using it for that purpose before, however I seem to have a plastic pipe coming out of the bottom of my kitchen wall into the drain that doesn't seem connected to anything inside the kitchen. Rather than pull it out leaving a big hole in the wall that may as well have a 'welcome' sign to all the mice, voles and occasional rat (one of the downfalls of living opposite the local cattle market), I thought I would try to stuff part of the pipe with wire wool as a deterrent. Luckily I can put on my gardening gloves to protect my hands and fingers, but I would suggest that the description is either changed or all the purchasers who only got the wire wool are sent a set of scissors and a pair of gloves. That's why I have only given 3 stars on this occasion.

Fine, flexible, but will it deter…?
Packed in a ziplock pouch, this wire wool / steel wool rolled into a fist-sized ball. The idea is that you place lengths of it in those places where pests known to enter or exit a structure. The very fine strands of wire should be unpleasant and uncomfortable to gnaw or otherwise pass through, and act as a deterrent. In our garden, we have at least one family of mice and a lair of rats. For the most part, we stay out of one another's way, although we do have the occasional encounter down by the compost. Recently, we've noticed the rats becoming braver and entering a rain water gulley near the side of the house; we'd rather keep them out, so I have placed some of this at the point of entry, in the hope that they are deterred. If it doesn't work, then I'll have a ball of steel wool that is perfect for polishing metal items. I will update this review as needed.

Very fine
This wire wool is a very fine grade and seems like good quality. The description mentions a glove and scissors but the pack only contains the wire wool. That said, it's so fine you don't really need gloves to handle it.Fine for pest control, but also absolutely perfect for polishing or removing rust or marks from things and will leave a decent finish.

Provides peace of mind
Having had some furry visitors last winter, I wanted to be well prepared this year. This wire wool is fine and easy to handle so it can be stuffed into really small spaces ( the ones that mice can squeeze through) such as air bricks. The wire wool stays in position and provides peace of mind.

A fine wire wool, ideal for removing light surface rust from metal. Description misleading though.
This item is for a roll of very fine wire wool.I've always used wire wool for cleaning items, particularly rust, dirt and grime from metallic items, much like a harsh sandpaper but without the level of damage that sandpaper would do, although the product description seems to think this is more used for rodent control, which is not a use I was aware of.I've tested this product for removing light surface rust and embedded brake dust from a car's brake calliper, and although its a little bit fine for that specific task, worked as expected. The product description does mention that it is supposed to come with scissors and some gloves, but none were provided in the product I received. At almost £9, this product is very expensive compared to other sellers, and even compared to local DIY stores.

fine wire wool
I've not used this for its intended purpose - so I cant comment on whether this is any good as a pest deterrent.I have however used it as wire wool to clean surfaces.it's well packaged feels consistent and is easy to split.
