Perfect for heavy dishes like a giant helping of pasta!

These plates are what I would call dessert size. I also use them for my side salad or fruit. They are strong and sturdy and don't suck up the moisture in your food, as some lower price disposable dishes do. I especially love the fact that after I use these instead of a plate I would have had to wash, I can just take it out to my compost pile along with my food prep cuttings and, come the fall, they may end up on my table again - this time as a component of my pumpkins and butternut squash from my garden. That's the kind of cycle you want to see happen.

First a word of warning. These are called "Dinner plates" but they are not the same size as your non-disposable dinner plates. They are very small for 'dinner plates'. That being said, they are sturdy, plentiful, and will still work for my camping purposes (though I may have to use more of them than I otherwise would have). The fact that they are compostable is even better for camping. If they don't make it into the trash, they won't harm the environment. And, 50 of them will last for many trips to come.

These compostable plates were perfect for dessert during a dinner party. They are very small so I would get bigger ones if you want to eat a full meal off of them. I did not test their compostability but they are plenty sturdy to hold food.

These are 7 inch plates, which I consider to be desert or snack size. The plate is thick, heavy duty plates. They should be able to handle anything put on them without bending or leaking. It states the plates are compostable. Overall, these are good dependable desert/snack plates.

We typically use disposable plates for when we have large company over to try and reduce the amount of clean-up afterwards, so we typically have these plates around at home to use for those occasions. We were especially drawn to the fact that these are listed as compostable, to lessen some of the guilt that we have for using disposable plates.While the 7-inch size is smaller than what we typically prefer, these are still plenty good enough for the smaller dishes - such as finger foods and desserts. I was surprised at the overall quality in that even wet foods didn't really seep through initially - though, I would not leave it on the plate for too long as these aren't the thickest built plates that we have used. The design on the plates are pretty standard - they are simple looking with an enough of a raised lip to fit into any decor and to be functional and comfortable to use for our guests.Overall, we would recommend this!
