Such an interesting read!!!
I loved this book and learning about the journey Mr O'Carrol has been through. I learned so much about the person behind Mrs Brown, the love he has for his family, the heart breaking life experiences he has been dealt with and everything he went through to become who he is today and how his life almost went in an entirely different direction.

A Bit Boring
I love Brendan O'Carroll in Mrs Brown and I was excited to read his book. He tells you about his life before Mrs Brown but although it was interesting I found it to be a little bit on the boring side. Sorry. This is just my feelings. I was expecting it to be funny but was just a bit disappointed.

A biography you just can't put down?!
Being a fan of Mrs Browns Boys, I was a little apprehensive about reading this book, as I didn't want to have my image of the character spoiled by finding out I didn't like Brendan. I am also not a big fan of biographies as a rule. However this book was a joy to read from start to finish, and it simply gave me a warm glow while reading it. Not only is it an absolutely fascinating story, but it so obvious that Brendan is a thoroughly nice bloke into the bargain. How great to that people like him can overcome all manner of problems and set backs, to end up being hugely successful in making the world laugh out loud.

Mostly interesting read
When I first started reading this book, it was quite late at night and I should have been going to bed, but I just couldn't stop! I kept thinking 'Just one more chapter'. I must have read at least a quarter of it, maybe more. On picking up where I'd left off the next day, I was just as fascinated, but then as I got further into the book it got hard going and I started to speed read, not something I usually do. I felt the author, although initially having got off to a good start, was 'jumping about' too fast between characters and it got confusing, I couldn't remember who half of the people were he was referring to. Fortunately, (for me anyway, this is just my personal opinion after all!) the last few chapters picked up again and were as good as the beginning, so I'm glad I persisted. Just a shame about the middle chapters.Personally, I prefer to read autobiographies, but it's understandable why Brendan chose not to write his own. I didn't dislike the book though, there was a lot of comical input from Brendan himself and I'd still recommend it.

Authorised Biography of Brendan o'Carroll
I have watched and laughed out loud at Mrs Brown on television but knew little about her creator, Brendan O'Carroll. I found this very well written book riveting and it was fascinating to learn about his humble chldhood as the youngest of a large family and his mother, who has been his major inspiration, through his early career right up to his current fame. This is clearly a man who has learned his craft and has earned all his current success through his powers of observation, natural talent and hard graft. If you have never seen Mrs Brown or are not a fan, if indeed there are any such people, the book probably won't mean much but for everyone like me who enjoys his comedy persona, to find out all about the man behind the frock, this is a book I strongly recommend that you should read

Fabulous read
I couldn't put the book down and from beginning to end is funny, honest and tells the story of Brendan O'Carroll from a little boy to now. All the struggles ups and downs he faced along the way, trying anything and everything to survive and be the success he always knew he could be thanks to his "Mammy". I love Mrs Brown's Boys and I loved this book. Long may you reign Agnes Brown/Brendan O'Carroll

Loved it!!!
I absolutely loved this book. My husband and I love the television show and reading the book gave an insight into where the stories come from. It was interesting to see how much Brendan had to over-come time and time again to achieve his dream, but no matter how many times he got knocked down he never gave up. Brendan's personal tragedies also opened my eyes to who this person is. And how he fought so hard to provide for the cast and crew and the sacrifices they all made. I loved learning about the relationship he has to each member of the cast, they aren't just hired professionals. The thing my husband and I love about the show is the "bloopers" and how Brendan had to fight to bring it to television in that form. I highly recommend this book to any Mrs. Brown fans.

Awesome read
I loved every minute of this book, reading about Brendan O'Carroll's childhood, his life, family importance and struggles in his career. I was aware of his comedic talent in England and also that his family members and friends take part in his Mrs (Agnes) Brown's Boys creation, but there seems to be much more depth to him which came out in this authorised biography. It kept my interest from start to finish. What a combination of warm, funny and touching while also showing his fierce determination and great strength in never giving up (and how that has paid off for him!).

but a good fast read
Somewhat sanitized, but a good fast read. The reader is left with the impression that Mr. O'Carroll is a decent person who cares about those he works with and work for him. I came across his work quite by accident on a trip to the UK last year, I am glad I did.
