Great book for healing and enjoying food.
Fantastic book! it is very informative, well written, well designed and superbly photographed, you can tell they put a lot of effort hiring professionals to edit the book, which makes a world of difference, such joy to go through the pages and just look at the pictures, the recipes are great too, nothing too complex but the variety of recipes makes it for a good cookbook if you want to know how to heal your adrenals or just get an idea of how to live a healthier life style.I wish they would touch more on the subject of leaky gut, because that would be the number one cause that people end up with adrenal fatigue in the first place rather than just stressful life style.If you have a leaky gut than just remove any inflammatory foods that are recommended in the book for now, such as nightshades, chocolate(all kinds), and hold off on the fermented foods until you clear up most of the leakiness. then when you get better you should reintroduce fermented foods as it contains a huge amount of good bacteria to replenish your gut flora.For leaky gut information I would refer any one to the works of Dr.Pagano, especially the book "many ailments one cause, the leaky gut syndrome"Overall 5/5.Thank you Lam family!

Best cook book on Adrenal Fatigue!
I have purchased other books on adrenal fatigue that included a cook book, this book is by far the best book on Adrenal Fatigue. Dr. Lam doesn't just give you recipes, but each page gives you valuable information about Adrenal Fatigue and also information about the food used in each recipe and how it benefits the body. I highly recommend this book. I wish I would have bought this book first before I spent all my money on the previous books. This book has given me hope that I have not had for a long time and has helped me to understand the deeper workings of Adrenal Fatigue and how food can help my body. Again, I high recommend this book.I got the hard cover addition, I love it, the pictures are great and colorful, it is arranged in a very helpful order and it is user friendly.sharon California

beautiful, informative book
First, the book is physically very well made. It is sturdy, with bright, glossy pages and very colorful. More importantly, it is full of (relatively) simple, healthy recipes. Finally, there is a lot of extra information and education to be found in the chapter introductions, sidebars, and appendices.

Super Charge Your Adrenals Through Food
Wow !! This is an excellent book. As a former client of Dr. Michael Lam, I've waited for this book to come out. His wife did an excellent job explaining the adrenal condition and what to eat for each specific symptom you are experiencing whether is be insomnia, blood pressure, weakness, all conditions of adrenal fatigue. The recipes are both easy to read and prepare. The book is beautifully done, it's printed on high quality paper, the pictures are beautiful and she explains how each food affects they system. It is well written and easy to understand. I'm becoming familiar with the recipes, they are good tasting and my cooking skills are improving : ) It's a great book and belongs in your library or kitchen.

This is an absolutely amazing book, especially for someone new to this disorder
This is an absolutely amazing book, especially for someone new to this disorder. The recipes are DELICIOUS, easy and many take less than 20 minutes which is what I need with two smack children. I got four books but this is the only one I really use because it's so approachable, plus gives great information about how and what to (ore what not to) eat and why. I've recommended this to many friends who struggle with energy levels and adrenal problems and all love it as well. Best money spent hands-down. Although I had to get many of the ingredients at first, now I have them as staples in the house and now my shopping trip and planning are much simpler. Love this book and the info on Dr. Lam's website as well.

Not worth it.
I bought this cook book in order to help me heal. In July my adrenals collapsed and I had NO energy. I had no idea how strained my adrenals were until I drank bulletproof coffee and went to the gym without eating breakfast.Anyway, the cook book looked great when it arrived and loved how they identified one vegetable in a recipe & along the margin the authors had a long description of all the benefits of that particular vegetable--the vitamins, minerals, how it affects the body and how often you should consume. What I didn't like about this cook book was there wasn't anyplace in the book where it talks about what else you should do for your body--herbs, supplements, or exercise. There wasn't any description about what causes adrenal fatigue or what causes it. They do talk about multiple other diets in the back of the book. The recipes that were in the book were very involved. I don't know about you but when I have next to no energy it is all I can do to just eat healthy let alone go shopping for all those ingredients. Then to prepare involved recipes, wow you need some mega energy.These authors have their own treatment program. I was healing very steadily and am progressing quite nicely. However, I wanted to see what else I could do to speed it along. So I looked into their program and found they do a free consult. They ask you to complete the health profile beforehand and so I did. When Dr. Lam called he was very nice and I told him I was having my best day ever in the past 4 months. Then he looked at my profile and saw I was using adaptogens. He began to yell at me that I was going to crash my adrenals. Then I told him I started using an estrogen cream. He yelled even louder about how much tissue I have(weight gain) and how he cannot treat me. Once during all this yelling I tried telling him I had blood work done for my hormones & thyroid, but he continued to yell. I hung up on him! Who yells at potential clients? Especially those who suffer from adrenal issues. Upon asking around I have heard from others who have been through the program it was a waste of money. I have since returned this cook book. What a waste of time, money & energy. If you are treating yourself because you are desperate to get better & other docs won't help you don't call Dr. Lam. I started taking hormonal creams--progesterone cream & estrogen cream since my hormones bottomed out. Wow, what a help it was in speeding up my recovery. I am ordering another book by a Dr. C, it sounds more like my kind of book. This is the last of ordering online. If I cannot see it, hold it and look through it I am not buying it.

Packed with info and the recipes are gorgeous!
If you are not already some way down the road of healthy eating you might find it a bit more of a departure from the usual foods you eat but this book in particular will help make your changes relatively painless.Before I got this I had done a lot of research on diet and nutrition, partly to drop a few pounds but mostly to see if I could reduce CFS symptoms through what I eat rather than take medications. My 'rules' were that my new eating regime should be easy to stick to, not in the slightest way miserable and not too awkward and time consuming. I also liked the idea of batch cooking and freezing.Since taking the leap I've been eating some seriously delicious meals that I would never have dreamed up sticking to my old ways. A completely unexpected turn of events and I don't feel deprived at all, quite the opposite. I sit by hubby watching eat the same old, same old and think WOW, he is missing out!This book uses lots of the ingredients that have made my transition a pleasant one. It shares my philosophy. For example, if you want something sweet occasionally then use a sweetener that has a decent nutritional value and/ or is low GI, maple syrup for example.Each chapter starts with a chunk of info about particular aspects of adrenal fatigue and the following recipes relate to that issue. Almost all the recipes have a panel of nutritional info about one of the key ingredients and they all have a photo.Whether you have adrenal fatigue or not, this is a book that will sort out lacklustre eating habits, help you feel heathier and lose some weight too. All this while exploring a whole new world of flavourful and very satisying meal and snack ideas.A cautionary note. Dr Lam seriously knows his stuff no question about that. Only access it through the books though. Don't sign up for newsletters etc. The Lam enterprise is classically American hard sell. Your inbox will be inundated!
