My partner probably shouldn't eat Haribo sweets. Make that definitely. In his defence - a rare thing on my part - he isn't a frequent consumer, just occasional. At least, to my knowledge. Who knows what he gets up to when he boards a bus and goes to check out pork pies, sausage rolls and sweet treats at the nearest budget supermarket?When I gave him this gift box of one kilo of Haribo sweets in 4 different types, he suddenly got very excited indeed - quite a feat on a cold, grey, sleety day in early February. 'They're treat size bags', I said. 'So you don't feel the urge to polish off a big bag all in one go.''It's a colourful offering', he said. 'It's making me feel strangely upbeat. Let's see. We have Starmix, Supermix - ooh, like those. Tangfastics - ha! And Giant Strawbs. All mine!' Well, they're not exactly all his. I might have one or two but undoubtedly Haribo is up his street. 'This is a momentous day indeed', he said. 'The day a little dream came true. I shall be seeing the strawberries dance tonight.'Make of it what you will. I know my partner loves these. And as sweets like this go, I suspect Haribo are better than many and actually taste quite fruity.
