Not even close to 1/16 scale. 1/24 at best.
I bought this for my son so we both would have similar military vehicles of the same size. This is small and not 1/16 scale.

Fun vehicle to play around with!
This is a pretty unique looking RC military vehicle. The throttle is either full on or off so it may be a bit hard to control for some, also - same thing goes for the steering there is no variation. The vehicle will be able to traverse basic obstacles but due to the lightweight, it would get stuck in tall grass.I think for the price-point and if you are in the market for a vehicle like this, you would feel okay in making the investment. My grading scale:5 Stars = Knocks it out of the park, PERFECT BUY!4 Stars = Excellent find, you should definitely give it a shot.3 Stars = It works and functions as advertised.2 Stars = A little scary, but do your research and it may work out.1 Stars = Avoid this product and look elsewhere. All of my reviews are based on actual use of the product. I do not communicate with sellers and I am not compensated for positive or negative reviews - they are as honest as I can make them.

Independent suspension and two drive motors
Great RC toy. What sets this apart from regular RC toys is that it has independent suspension, front, middle-back and back. There's an electric motor in the middle-back and back wheels. It won't go over logs and will get stuck in gnarly areas, but it's perfect for the back yard or front yard with grass. The light helps when driving in dark areas. I would have preferred the light to be on with a switch. The only down side maybe is the range, at least on the one I have. The antenna is a wire leading to a piece of copper that is attached right under the front "hood" of the car. I think anyone that's handy can solder a wire to it and attach it to the top of the chassis. My unit has a range of about 40 feet. 20-40 it can stop receiving commands. In the house this isn't a problem at all, just a prob when you're outside with space. 5 stars, a real off road light weight "truck".

Not hobby grade, but not the worst I've played with
The media could not be loaded. First the bad news: I ordered this truck because the appearance of the remote control transmitter deceived me into believing it possessed digital proportional controls, which would have allowed the user to dial in exactly how much of a turn and how much throttle they wanted. You see, this toy's controller is designed to look like the controllers on more expensive RC trucks and cars that have that type of subtle, precise level of control. Sadly, the look of this controller is intentionally deceptive. The reality is that the thing which looks like a steering dial is not, in fact, a dial; it's a switch whose positions are hard left, no turn, and hard right. So you can't make a soft turn and carefully guide your truck through or around an obstacle.Similarly, the throttle trigger looks like the kind that would allow you to select varying degrees of acceleration, but it is not. It's just a switch that lets you select forward, stop, or reverse.Other things I didn't like:No instruction manual was included. Nor was a Philips head screwdriver. And you'll need one in order to open the battery compartment for the truck's rechargeable batter and the battery compartment the transmitter's AA batteries go into. It makes no sense for manufacturers to design RC toy battery compartments in such a ways that you need a screwdriver to open and close them, but at least most manufacturers are decent enough to include a screwdriver. Not so with this truck.OK, with the negatives out of the way, there are some positives, and most of them have to do with the suspension:I had expected this toy to be one that merely mimicked the appearance of having a sophisticated suspension and enough ground clearance for off-roading without delivering on that promise. I was mistaken. All three live axles have springs and articulation points that allow them to move independently of each other in a way that is pleasing to see, and involves more moving parts than I'd expect to find on an item in this price category. And the high ground clearance allows this machine to actually travel on very uneven, unpaved surfaces for quite a while before it gets stuck.Additionally, the claim that this truck has 4WD is technically true, because both rear axles are driven by separate electric motors. 6WD, with a motor turing the front wheels, would have been nice, and this toy would have also benefited if its motors were more powerful. As it is, you will get stuck when off-roading, but that's to be expected. If you want real off-road capability, you simply have to spend more than what you'll spend on this thing. Lots more.In summation, this is a fun little toy, disappointing in some ways, but in other ways, better than I expected.

Great Value RC Truck
This RC truck comes with everything you need to get started out of the box with the exception of batteries for the remote. I think it is pretty good value considering the price. The speed is pretty good, four of the six wheels are powered and it even has lights. The remote is not proportional, so the throttle is either on or off and the steering is either left, right or center, nothing in between. I'd say this is pretty typical for this price point. The overall design looks great, and it even had enough power to drive in loose sand. I also like that it came with 2 batteries, that way you have much less down time and more time for fun. This great for kids or kids at heart!
