The Skillful Teacher: Building Your Teaching Skills 6th Edition

This edition does NOT match the hard copy of the 6th edition. The chapters are off. It is also outdated at this point; the technology stuff is really old. Just get the newest edition (at the writing it's the 7th).

The Skillful Teacher is an incredible resource for teachers looking to up their game using techniques that have been tried AND PROVEN. This is a compendium of the research of dozens and hundreds of researchers going back 50 years and more, organized into useful chapters, with specific techniques gathered into categories. This organization and well defined sections make it very easy to pick up and read for 5 minutes (a "bathroom book"), or an hour or two (serious study material for a class or Professional Learning group). In my school it is proving useful to every teacher from relative rookies to seasoned teachers with decades of experience.

This book is great shape to have been used - some highlights and pencil markings but definitely a great value for the price!

This was a required textbook for my class. Unfortunately, it was the wrong edition.

My school issues us a copy of this book, so I already had it around. I bought this to have a copy at home to share with my husband (also a teacher). This should be mandatory reading in every credential program because it covers all aspects of teaching and classroom management. I know I would have benefited from reading it before stepping into my own classroom!

This item is an Amazon Rental. The book is fine but I feel it necessary to say that the pages are significantly stained along the bottom of the book. It appears to be covered in a coffee spill. The book is fine for use as a rental but I'd like to ensure that I'm not responsible for the damages that were on the book upon arrival.

Despite its year, there are some incomparable gems in this book. Recommended.
