Usborne World of Animals

We’ve all come to expect stunning visuals, great information that our kids will eat up, but I especially enjoyed how this book was organized by type of habitat/ parts of the world featuring famous locales like the Serengeti, Himalayas, Sumatra & Borneo to name a few, and laid out in an interesting and unusual way compared to other animal encyclopedias. This is NOT a complete reference and does not include all the usual suspects, but quite an array of interesting and exotic animals. It’s a great supplement to our science unit on habitats (2/3 grade), and ties into landforms and natural wonders of the world. Text is easy to follow and highly interesting.

This is an absolutely beautiful book! The "animal planet" section is a nice intro with some amazing pictures. The book then covers animals that live in South and Central America. I love that each area has a map of the continent and shows where the animals in that habitat live. The animal pictures are amazing. This book has the most amazing pictures of any animal atlas we own. The internet links are great for when my kids want to learn more about specific animals. Love this book!

Pretty basic. I was expecting more based on others reviews. I wouldn’t get it for a child over 7. The information is pretty basic. Beautiful pictures, per usual for this type of book.

Love the pictures and just enough information for a K/1 student. Not too much info but enough to keep K/1 student engaged.

This book arrived quickly and was in perfect condition. We love the Usborne books and use them with the Sonlight science homeschool curriculum. Though we have tried others, we returned to this one. The internet links provide quick and easy supplements to the reading material, and we will continue to purchase Usborne books on Amazon in the future.

Love the photos! And the chunks of information are just enough to keep my child interested, but not too much to overwhelm her.
