High Gain perfection
Love the high powered performance of this pedal. Clear crunchy chord definition and awesome solo tones. If you can't afford the SLO amp, this is the next best option.

I like it but no peddle is going to make the sound of a true Saldano SLO 100
I like it but understand no peddle is going to make the sound of a true Saldano SLO 100. Only 4 stars because Saldano is saying it will. Using the edge of breakup clean channels on stereo tube amps, it has closer to the SLO 100 amp big sound, and better than the tube amps own hi gain channels. Great mid range punch, if you want it, or can scoop it. Simple but versatile.

Not what I expected
I heard a lot of demos of this on YouTube and it sounded great. However, what I heard using a very expensive Ibanez AZ2402 was not great. It lacked character and definition. I ended up returning it and was great disappointment.

Like Having Another Lead Channel On Your Amp.
This isn't just an overdrive or a distortion pedal. It's more like having a whole other lead channel on your amp. A beautiful sounding lead channel. You can plug this pedal in without even adjusting any knobs and you will get a great sound out of it. The gain is smooth as silk while being very articulate. With the gain at 1 you get a nice bluesy sounding drive. As you turn up the gain you get amazing lead tones with great sustain and just enough compression. Unlike with other pedals there is never really a point where the gain becomes unusable when you turn it up past a point. This thing sings when playing lead and will give you a nice chug for rhythm. If you are looking for that scooped mid tone I'm afraid you are going to have to look elsewhere. It doesn't do that. The deep button on the side gives you more of a 4x12 cabinet sound. It sounds great either way but with single coils I have it engaged. It sounds great with my jazzmaster and of course it really shines with Les Paul's. I've only ran it straight into the front of my amp as none of my current amps have an FX loop. Im sure it would make for a great preamp if you were to run it that way. This pedal has made my other overdrive pedals obsolete. I was going to end this by saying this pedal is probably the best sounding overdrive pedal I've ever played through but again I can't call it that. It really is more like a lead channel on your amp. A Soldano lead channel.
