A super-creative book to boost your child's development
We often travel abroad to visit our relatives outside the UK and as such, my kids are used to long journeys. The journeys can be quite long and repetitive and I was surprised to see how excited my son was upon receiving this book! He said he can't wait to go on another family trip, because he wants to fill out all of the tasks in this book. The tasks are varied and thoughtful - for example, the child is asked to write down the people they've met, the places they've been, the food they've eaten or how they felt when they were away. It's a great book for younger children (5-8 years old) and helps them with self-discovery. Keeps them busy too. My absolutely loved it. It was heartwarming to see him write down every single details about our family trips - it really opened my eyes to how my son sees the world. I cannot recommend this book more - it's a must-have for any parent that cares about their child's mental and emotional development!

Brilliant Travel Book
What an absolutely brilliant book for children who are about to embark on a journey. The Create Your Own Travel Journal is split into four chapters - Before the Off; Getting There; You've Arrived; Memories to Cherish. Each section allows your child (or you) to fill in thoughts and feelings, and have a go at different activities associated with holiday / journey planning. Before the Off - encourages a little bit of research about the destination, how do you feel - are you worried or excited, what do you think you'll do, what are you going to pack...Getting There - covers the journey with things to do to keep you occupied, things to look out for...You've Arrived - first impressions, holiday highlights, tick lists, making new friends...Memories to Cherish - souvenirs, time to go - how do you feel about going home, future trips.I especially like the fact that the book acknowledges you can be nervous about going on a trip or on holiday, but that you can also not want to come home if you've had a brilliant time. I thought this was an amazingly well-thought out book, especially for children who are going on their first major holiday or trip. I also think it would work equally well for holidays in the UK as well as abroad, every activity could be done in your own country. The images on the product page give you an excellent idea of what the book is like. It is a case of the more effort you put into filling out the journal, the better your final book version will be. But overall - I thought this was brilliant and wouldn't hesitate to buy it for any child about to go on a trip.

Really lovely travel keepsake for children
This travel notebook is a really lovely keepsake for children (or even adults!), it is really well thought and laid out with loads of pages to plan and note down things for any holiday. Since the book is for one holiday only i feel it would be best used for a longer, holiday of a lifetime. I ordered this for my child who will be 9 at the time of a big summer holiday and feel it is perfectly age appropriate. I like that this is a good old fashioned notebook rather than relying on digital media to record memories.Less than £10 (at the time of review) if this works out as good as i think it will i would definitely buy another for the next big holiday.

Lovely book
Content seems age appropriate for 9 year olds but older children may find the activities a bit boring/babyish. Happy with my purchase and looking forward to gifting them before our trip.
