About 15 years ago, my mom and dad had a couple of hummingbird feeders hanging from their backyard patio in Menifee, California. My dad noticed that although there were several hummingbirds, they had no place to perch anywhere close to the feeders.Dad had an idea, so he took a long strand of thick bailing wire from a roll he had in the garage and a wooden dowel and made the very first hummingbird swing and hung it on the patio not far from the feeders.It didn't take long before the hummingbirds caught on and the swings made from bailing wire and wooden dowels became the hummingbirds favorite places to perch, some using them as a guard tower to watch over their favorite food; the rest is historyWhen you hang one of the swings for the first time, be patient; the hummingbirds will use it, however, don't hang the swings to close to the feeders and place them in an area that is easily accessible and enjoy these magnificent creations of God; they are quite an amazing little bird...enjoy

We have this near our hummingbird feeder. There’s always one on the swing waiting for his turn at the feeder. So cute to see them swing.

I got this for my dad who has hummingbirds. He put it up about 6 weeks ago and hasn't seen a bird on it to date. Nice idea but they don't seem interested.

It has been hanging since March. One hummingbird came up to it and looked at it but had no interest in it. I have it hanging by one of my feeders.It looks really cute on the porch but it hasn't been used. Who knows they may end up using it one day.

Grandparents wanted to have another swing. They liked it and was easy to hang.

These swings are really nicely made and cute. I was able to decorate them with red-pink-purple-shiny beads, and hopefully they will attract my hummers to rest between feedings.

but still waiting for a hummingbird to perch ;) !

I gave this as a gift and my friend says the hummingbirds often use it while waiting their turn at the feeder.
