NOT AT ALL SUITABLE AS A HAMSTERS PERMANENT ENCLOSURE and this review is only in regards to short supervised play time*I absolutely love this playpen!! I’ve tried the pop up fabric pens before but my girl is out of it within minutes. This pen is a lot harder to escape from and a lot sturdier. It’s also huge and has plenty of room for toys and space to run.The panels are easy to attach together and a small hammer is provided to make sure they’re slotted into the black connectors fully.Cable ties are provided to make the panels even more secure, but if you wish to collapse the pen again you may not want to use these. Personally I cable ties each side together and the floor together so I could break the pen down into large pieces making it easier to put it together again, but still allowing me to store it easily.The panels are made from really thin plastic. It would be easy to chew through so hamsters and other small fur babies do need supervision when using it, but so far my girl has only tried to chew the corners a little and has been easily distracted with toys and treats when this happens.There’s so much room in the pen once it’s up and there’s even space for me to sit in with her to help with bonding.Overall my girls absolutely loves her time in her playpen and I’m extremely happy with it. No playpen is 100% escape proof but this is by far the best one I’ve tried! I’d definitely recommend it for all hamsters!

The media could not be loaded. I saw that this playpen had so much potential the moment I saw it. With a little work I’ve made it into a 105x45cm hamster enclosure. I have siliconed the gaps, but in the unlikely event that it comes loose I want something to be there so the bedding doesn’t fall out so I’m going to tape over the gaps at the base with black or grey tape. I cut the plastic out of the top 3 panels and wire meshed it to create the lid using cable ties to secure it. I’ve taped down the corners as it was sharp, and will be going over it with a black/grey tape to neaten it up. If I had the space I could’ve made his enclosure so much bigger which is what I love about this! He’s only had one night in it so far and I watched him for the most part. So far he hasn’t tried to chew up any corners, and I don’t think he will. I lined the base with kitchen towel and wooden pellets to protect the base. I’m useless at DIY, and this is the first thing I’ve attempted and the most I struggled with was the silicone. I saw that people had taped over the seams but I thought silicone would be easier to clean, however you can definitely just do it by taping over them! All that you need to stop is bedding from coming out. The playpen itself is really easy to build and your hamster will love the amount of space and bedding you can give them! Sturdier than it looks, and will be so much easier to deep clean once a month rather than cleaning his tiny cage once a week. I can now upgrade his wheel and add so many more things.

I bought this to replace a 4x2 c&c guinea pig cage, which is the same size. This meant I could keep my corex base. Pros: C&C metal cages are flimsy and mine kept falling apart. This seemed better because of the light material. It is not too heavy to stand up and be held in place by the connectors. Easy to clean, just wipe with a damp cloth and pet-safe disinfectant. Easy to assemble - smaller panels are for the base, which can be held together with the suppliedcable ties. Cons: This is advertised as a playpen rather than a permanent home, but there is nowhere to attach water bottles. I made some holes to feed the nozxle and wire holder through. No waterproof base - I am using my own corex base, but you could put waterproof fabric down followed by fleece. I don’t think that’s great long term though.

So I bought my first songmic run in 2022, ive learnt a few things with them but it all rusted so the rabbits needed a new one, being as cheap as they are I dont mind buying a new one each year as they are alot cheaper than conventional runs, they are more hygienic and they give so much room to the rabbits when they have to be in. This time ive decided to put right the things I didnt like last time so will list things below as maybe helpful for someone else. Only down side is theyve not provided a ladder type thing in these ones like they did in my last ones but never mind.1, remember if you are re buying like I was, dont just press buy because they have 3 different sizes, check which one you bought last time.2, When putting it together, the larger pannels have a seem on them from when the platice wraps round the metal, make sure to put the seem on the OUTSIDE of the run as being on the inside encourages more chewing.3, Again when putting together it can be frustrating because its a clip together thing, you put one side in and the other comes out, way around this is to put it all together loosely to begin with and when its together then go round with the hammer so its together more securely.This time round I purchase some crytal clear gorilla tape to tape the down stairs pannels together, im not telling others to do this but im glad ive done is as now no poo goes through the wholes and wee doesnt seep through either. All in all the run works well for us I love that I can mop it out, and completely get rid of any smells where as with a wooden hutch they have less room and it soaks everything up and stinks.

The media could not be loaded. Bin sehr zufrieden mit diesem schönen kleinen Freigehege. Mein Zwerghamstermädchen liebt es. Ich finde es super, dass man es problemlos durch den Kauf weiterer Teile erweitern und somit vergrößern könnte. Der Aufbau war sehr schnell und unkompliziert. Besonders praktisch finde ich, dass die fertige Konstruktion stabil genug ist, dass man sie vorsichtig innerhalb der Wohnung Verschieben kann, sogar mit samt der Einrichtungsgegenstände. Ich habe den Boden noch mit einer zusätzlichen Plastikfolie und einer Hanfmatte darüber ausgelegt. Zwischen den einzelnen Elementen (die wohl aus einer sehr stabilen Plastikfolie bestehen) sind kleinere Lücken, aber der Abstand ist klein genug, dass ein Hamster nicht durchpasst. Trotzdem würde ich keinen Hamster über einen längeren Zeitraum unbeaufsichtigt darin lassen, sondern wirklich nur unter Aufsicht darin laufen lassen. Würde es auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen.
