Brass spigot and long handle. YES!
I love that this is a brass spigot & has a long handle for ease of use on my rain barrel. I know some who only drill an opening just large enough to screw the spigot threads into the side of the barrel. I prefer a more secure method: First, for my rain barrel, I will drill the 13/16” opening on the side of the barrel about 5” above the base on an accessible side of my barrel. I will weight one end of a string with a washer & guide the washer/string through an open bung at the top of my rain barrelmaking sure the string at the top cannot fall into the barrel. Guide the washer/string down to & through the opening I just drilled. Hang onto the washer end once through the lower opening. Next, I will thread the interior spigot part onto the string from the top, making sure the threads are forward, and pull the threaded section of the fitting through the opening and hang onto it! This may require needle nosed pliers. (There are many videos showing how to do this string method.) This way I can cut the string to remove the washer & carefully start the spigot turning into the fitting. Tighten everything from outside of the barrel. Add enough water to check for leaks. You may wish to add silicone sealant as an added barrier to leaks. Pipe tape on the threads are also optional. I tried a siphon method for leveling the water in my barrels, but am going back to daisy-chaining across spigots on the fronts of each barrel. This will be perfect to get it started. Now I wait for spring (no more freezes) to put my plan into action.

Works as it should
This is working well for my application. I have it mounted to a 5-gallon bucket and use it to hold coolant. It doesn’t have any issues with leaking and is working just fine. It’s not under a lot of pressure so I don’t foresee this leaking anytime soon. The only thing that might cause it a problem is the coolant. So far though it is working great, and I would recommend it if you needed to put a valve on a bucket.

Nearly perfect.
It makes a tight seal and does not leak. It works very well. But there's one little problem... you need access to both sides to install it.

SUPER STURDY AND EASY INSTALL!
This is for my second shop vac, not a rain barrel, but it is 100% perfect for the task. Will do fine on your rain barrel.Very, very, VERY sturdy. Super easy install.Good full close on the ball valve - no leaks.I put a little extra silicone on, just because I'm trying to Tim Taylor all my shop vacs to not lose one iota of vacuum, but you could get by without it.Five stars!

Works great on my rain barrel
Solid brass construction with quality materials. I stalled on my rain catchment barrel. Seals up well after i prepped the mounting surface. Great valve foe the money and quality.

perfect 1/4 turn valve for rain barrels. Ergonomic handle -easy to use with gloves.
We have 4 rain barrels (one at every corner) on our house. We use all the collected water for our vegetable garden to save using our $$city water. This faucet with integrated garden hose thread is perfect. A quick quarter turn from full off to full on. Long handle for easy grip even with gloves. Rubber gasket makes a tight seal with the wall of the rain barrel so no leaking. Solid brass will probably outlast the barrel itself!

Good quality
Heavy and good quality spigot. Rubber O rings are a good fit to install this in barrel.
