Purchased this hardcover for a class novel study. It is an excellent read to teach kids about twists on age-old stories (the Revolutionary War). It is also wonderful to instruct kids on how personal change is possible.While Creighton starts out as the bad guy, his uncle quickly displaces him. The characters are all quite believable, especially Ben Franklin.Overall, I have purchased 20 hardcovers of this selection so that all of my students can appreciate great literature.

Shakespear's Stealerを書いた作者なので読んでみました。　１７７７年アメリカの独立戦争の時代の話しです。イギリスの貴族の家に生まれたクレイトンは、わがままで甘やかされて育った１５歳の少年ですが、ある日帰宅途中に連れ去られアメリカに連れていかれます。　イギリスの教育を受け、イギリスの価値観に何も疑問を持たずに育ったクレイトンがアメリカ人の中で学んで行く姿が描かれています。　ストーリーは面白く、子供向けなので読みやすいのですが、貴族社会で育った為に世間知らずで年齢に比べて幼い印象があって感情移入がしにくいように思いました。　それに比べたらShakespear's Stealerやshakespear's Scribeはより面白いと思いました。

A very nice read, grabs your attention and doesn’t give it back! Honestly, I’ve been waiting for such a long time to get a good book and now I’ve got it.

Amazing book!!! It really helps understand the mindset of war, and how it plays a part in life today! Loved it!!!

Easy read with good story line. Different perspective on the southern revolution.Makes you wonder what maybe could have been.
