Q: How to keep them light up longer than 8 hours?

We’ve been unable to figure out how to schedule the lights.

Q: Where is the on button on the panel?

On the backside of the solar panel one button is on and off the second button is to change might mode. If your light is not coming on its probally because you did not charge it use the usb to charge first time

Q: What kind of adapter is the end of the cords that screw together? Can I see a picture of one of the ends?

The adapter is shown in the picture. It is connected to the lights and connects to the solar panel. I purchased 2 of the 35ft after liking the first set. Great lights.

Q: How long do they stay on? Do they light up automatically?

Yes, at night they will turn light and stay on a long time.
