Well built and works great!
I have been using KentokTool's LE400 Pro for a couple years and it's been a good laser, but had a few minor issues. With this new JL7 laser, pretty much all my concerns with the LE400 were corrected and it has way more capability. The build quality is very good and assembly is quite nice and easy. No setting up the belts on this laser, they are preassembled. The pieces go together very well and the fit and finish is top notch. This laser has the harness routing sorted out so no chance of snagging your harness like there was on the LE400. The limit switches are much improved and I love that the frame has quite a bit of free space around the cutting bed. The set screw for the height adjust seems a little spindly, but it works fine, no issues with it. The height adjust is much simpler with this JL7 compared to the LE400. I like that the USB cable is Type C on the laser, easier to replace a cable if need be. Feet aren't very tall on the laser and you will have to prop it up to get it high enough to engrave on some thicker surfaces.I appreciated that they included a card with files for it. With the LE400 I felt like I was on my own trying to figure everything out, but this one is very easy; they include firmware, specific files for different programs include configuration. (LaserGRBL and lightburn etc.) Makes it a lot easier for someone to set it up.The engraving speed and quality is very good. I took all my files that I had set up for the LE400 and basically just adjusted the speed x3 and getting the same results in a third of the time. This is going to cut down on time to complete jobs and be more efficient. I tried different types of jobs as well as a lot of my standard jobs and it is as fast as advertised. I even tried cutting through 5/8" pine and it did go through it in 6 passes as the manual says, but takes a super long time for that kind of job though, I'm better off just engraving an outline and taking it to the bandsaw to cut it out, but it does cut through it as advertised.Very satisfied with it! Looks like it will be a very good replacement for my shop.

Major Upgrade for Kentoktool!
I am not a hobbyist and use my lasers for cutting and decorating leather for my leather business. I do use lasers for personal items as well but I am extremely judicious in what I purchase. Prior to my first Kentoktool purchase a few years ago, I had tried a number of well known brands of lasers with positive reviews, but all were returned due do some major flaw. Some were used and sent, supposedly in error, some were simply defective. My 5 watt Kentock LE400 was excellent! Well made, no defects and worked flawlessly for some time. As soon as they released their I jumped on it and was not disappointed I used it daily. I then undertook a large project that required an extended bed, but unfortunately there was no extension kit available. I fashioned my own and was able create an extended harness that worked flawlessly. The LE400 Pro is used constantly for larger projects and the JL7 is used as often as possible, as it is actually superior in build and stability resulting in much better engraving at higher speeds. In addition, the laser module has more clearance that the LE400, once the guide is removed easily clearing the magnets I use as work holds.Setup of the JL7 is a breeze, the Kentoktool manuals are out standing and the 30L air assist out performs the Xtool Air Assist I purchased for almost double what the Kentoktool product cost.I have tried to graft a 20 and 30 watt laser to the LE400 but the frame, which is fine for the 5 and 10 watt modules coughs up blood with a 20 or 30 watt module. The JL7 should have absolutely no issues upgrading to a module that weighs twice or three times that of the 10 watt. I will be first in line for that upgrade. In thinking about any negatives, really none come to mind. It is a solidly built machine which can easily handle daily use in a commercial environment. The air assist works perfectly and I have had absolutely no crud on the protective lens after many hours of use. Finally KentoTool's customer support is beyond reproach! I returned a well know brand of laser which stated 24/7 customer service...no response what-so-ever. That's why I will continue to support the good people at Kentoktool, they care about their customers.I recommend this and ANY Kentoktool without hesitation!
