Q: Can this item go into the oven

Excellent works well, I use it often!

Q: Can it be in the oven for the duration of Turkey cooking? Just want to make sure because one of the reviews says that it exploded and ruined Xmas :(

I have used these for quite a few years now & found them excellent & very reliable. However, I have never used it in the oven. I take the meat out to baste it etc. and use the thermometer to see how it is cooking and then just test it at regular intervals. They are very good. I usuallt work out the approx. cooking time & then from about 30 mins before just test it. You just need to put the thermometer into the thickest part of the joint to see how it is doing. Hope this helps.

All you have to remember is that the red pointer is the oven temp go's to the right and the other the meats temp. go's to the left
