Safariland578W 7TS GLS Wide Frame Long Slide Paddle & Belt Loop Combo Holster

Buying the correct size online is a bit challenging since we can't simply check the sticker on the side of the package, and a lot of the product numbers on Amazon don't seem to align with what you find on Safariland's official website. I can confirm however that this is the right-handed, black, "Wide Long" holster, and it fits a Springfield Armory XD-9 4" wonderfully. The package says that it is model number 578-450-411. If you take a look on Safariland's site you should be able to find a chart showing which model will suit your needs. I've found it easier to go by model name rather than model number when looking for these on Amazon.This comes with the paddle installed, but it can be easily swapped for the (also included) belt loop attachment. The paddle has a non-adjustable forward cant (around 45 degrees), and fits surprisingly well against the hip. It doesn't shift when jumping or moving around, and it doesn't seem like it could be easily pulled off by someone else. The belt loop is made of a very firm rubber material, and the loops themselves have a small bit of rubber that can be cut off to accomodate wider belts. Unlike the paddle, the belt loop can be canted in three positions: 45 degrees forward, slightly forward, or straight up and down. I prefer straight, or even slightly canted backwards, so the belt loop works best for me.The GLS retention is great, it locks very securely and doesn't seem like it could be accidentally disengaged or manipulated by someone else. Unlocking is very natural with a proper grip and draw, and after a minute or so of practice it doesn't really require any conscious thought to hit the lever with your middle finger. It also has a good amount of passive retention that can be adjusted to your liking with the included allen wrench. It's constructed from "SafariSeven" material, which so far seems durable and hasn't left any marks on my XD. It feels somewhat similar to Kydex, but with a slightly textured external surface.I'm happy with this purchase and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an OWB holster with active retention. Just make sure you get the right model!

My Steyr L9-A1 9mm is not a mainstream weapon, so holster options are limited and most are costly. That said, I'm happy the Safariland 578W 7TS GLS Wide Frame Long Slide was a viable option for me.The holster provided a secure and acceptable fit right out of the package, and was easy to get used to very quickly. Regardless, the instructions said the trigger guard shim as necessary for my use so I installed it. The fit and use was even better! Complete setup was under 10 minutes and I now have a secure hold holster I'm very confident in. The holster release trigger placement works great with a standard hand grip and is very natural and comfortable. Upon draw from the holster your trigger finger falls alongside the frame and ensures a safe situation.I haven't used the holster in any range or live fire scenarios yet, but can't see any reason why there would be any issue. Worst case, I may need to adjust the fit a bit using the provided tool. If your firearm is on the approved fitment list, then I can't see how you would be dissatisfied with this holster.

Ok so I don't do reviews but I figured I'd save someone else a headache by taking a shot in the dark . This WILL FIT a polymer 80 940c . I am running with a holosun uptop , trijicon high sights , and a treaded Barrell and there are no issues.Even with the threaded barrel my Barrell is still about a solid inch inside the holster. The end is open so I assume this model is for a longer slide gun.Retention is attainable but nowhere near as good as it is on my factory Glock 19. Because of the undercuts on the triggergaurd you will have to give a little extra push for the retention to catch . After about 5 minutes of use it didn't bother me anymore and it works pretty well. Not sure if I didn't read the fine print or if I got lucky but mine came with the additional belt loop conversion along with the paddle that I had planned on buying separate.Hope it helps

I like the ease of use and the catch / retention device... well designed.

This holster fits my Sig P320 full size well but does not hold it as tight as I would like.The locking mechanism does interfere with the initial grip since it uses the middle finger of your strong hand to disengage.All in all a nice holster with a strong locking mechanism and some adjustability.I will continue to use it in competition when use my P320.

Hitherto, I never favored locking holsters even though I never had tried one. I got the 578 GLS because of the wide range of adjustment that allows it to work with several different makes and models. I was surprised to find how intuitively and effortlessly the GLS works and what a feeling of security it provides. I've already started looking into safariland concealment holsters, which this isn't really. It comes with a paddle and belt mount - both of which induce a slight cant. I do wish you could use a vertical cant but alas, no - at least with this model. You can of course cover the holster with a garment but it doesn't hold very close to the body and I think is really meant for open carry and range use. The safarilaminate is very kind to finishes and holstering and drawing is very easy. Overall, a great choice for secure, locked carry and you can find them a very good prices, too.

I saw that this model was rated for the P320, and was pleased to see my X5 Legion fit it as well. I wore it during an IDPA shoot, and it was quite comfortable, stable, and easy to draw from. There were no marks on my weapon, which is good. I am very pleased with the holster and would recommend it to others.

Good holster. One mistake I made is buying a “like new used from Amazon “ description of holster is not all the way correct. Holster larger model.The shim and adjustment tool was missing from packaging. I will never buy used items from Amazon again. They don’t check to make sure everything is in the package.

La utilizzo per una Walther PDP 9 full size 5".Visto video su you tube su come regolarla, assicura buona stabilità della pistola nella fondina e della fondina sulla cintura, facilità di estrazione ottima.Ancora non testata "dinamicamente", ma le premesse ci sono tutte.Arrivata un paio di giorni in ritardo (potevano spedirla prima), ma non tolgo una stella per così poco.Raccomando!
