Nothing fancy. Just a solidly built pouch that does exactly what it's supposed to.
The headline pretty much covers it for this review. The pouch is well constructed, using a nice heavy nylon that feels like it will hold up for a long time. The velcro for closing the flap is solid, and the divider inside is soft so it doesn't wear on the blades. Definitely happy with this, and would recommend it to anyone who needs an easy way to keep spare steel for your skates.

Seems durable
The worst feeling a hockey player has is stepping on the ice for a game and noticing one of your edges is bad. Maybe you stepped on concrete or nicked something, doesn't matter, it happens to all players.Pros have trainers to quickly fix them on the bench, but most teams and schools don't. Many times the pro shop is not even open so the player cant get it fixed, especially at road games, and has to be out for the game. Wasted trip. And even if they can get it fixed, the player will waste much of the game taking off their skates, getting them fixed, and putting them back on.Carrying a sharp backup set of blades in a bag like this solves all that. Place the blades in this bag, and they are available to replace the bad skate blade in a minute. No player should be without a backup set of blades now since skates allow them to be replaced. It should be MANDATORY. Players never used to have the option to replace blades, and would have paid anything for the convenience of simply reaching into this bag and replacing a bad blade in minutes.Good day.Good day.

Does the job
The worked perfectly for keeping a spare set of blades organized and safe from dings. Also keeps them from floating around in a bag and cutting things up. The closure works great and I've never had them slip out. Perfect solution for my needs.

Larger than it needs to be
It's large for a one size fits all approach, but it's fine. Holds the spare blades, keeps them safe, and good to have. Nothing special about the pouch, but it works.

Protects extra set of skate blades
Well made pouch that holds the skate blades separately. You could had an additional set of blades but the blades would be touching each other in the pouch. Well made!

Good for a pair of blades but not two
You can fit two pairs of skate blades in this blade holder but that means you are putting a pair of blades in each pocket because this holder only has two pockets. I don't know about you but I don't want my blades banging around in one pocket. That being said this holder works for me because I only carry one extra pair of blades, so I only have one blade per pocket. It seems to be made out of the same material as they use on the bottom of a skate soaker, so it should hold up well.It was easy to get blades in and out of this. It would have been nice if this was smaller but it is still smaller than my Howies holder and then it might not have been so easy to get the blades in and out of this.

Solid construction, should last a long time.
Being a hockey parent of 3 boys, they all now have skates with replaceable steel on their skates. We always like to have a spare pair of steel at rink as we've certainly had incidents before where a child's steel cracked and had to rush the coach the blade pouch to replace them. This is something you toss in their hockey bag as insurance and hope you never need it. Or another option is to carry 2 sets of steel for tournaments and then you can swap them out after a few games to keep the kids edges nice and sharp. This blade pouch is really well made. It's made out of a strong denier type of material you often see in hockey bags. They keep the blades inside protected and also keeps them from damaging any of his gear while in his bag. There are two inside pouches so the blades also do not contact each other while in the pouch.Comes with a label area which is great if you need to send a pair of steel off for profiling or even just dropping them off at your local pro-shop for a sharpening.Definitely a solid product and recommended.
