Informative But Dry
This book was very dry, but informative. The author discusses the sociological and psychological background to an excessive depth with no vernacular excitement. The main reason I bought the book was to look at tattooing as a stereotype, and it gave me plenty of information on that. There is a table that gives the reader basic information on people who were interviewed by the author. It discusses historical time periods and how tattoos have evolved over the years, which also helps in my research project. Somehow I missed that the book shows statistics of people in Canada, but he repeatedly says North America in the explanation parts. I would imagine the testimonies of people interviewed would be quite similar to Americans. Based on the summary, I expected there to be more about the people he interviewed than was actually there. However, I got all the information I was looking for, and then some.
