The media could not be loaded.  GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! First off there was an error on my brother's part when installing it, and I ordered another one despite a prompt to speak with a service agent. I was out of town, and couldn't explain the wiring issue at the time (since I didn't install it) so I unfortunately had to bypass that option. They sent one out immediately while I sent the first one back. He of reinstalled it CORRECTLY, with zero issues.The BD-1 Smart Door Lock is plug n play. The diameter of the door knob was smaller than my Kwikset, but that is easily corrected with a paint job, which is clearly (see photos) forthcoming or by installing a reinforcement plate.Getting the fingerprints programmed was easy, as well as setting up passwords. You can program multiple users, with multiple access types (password or fingerprint). You have 3 fobs and 2 manual keys. The keys are good just in case something goes haywire with the electronics.You can set the time and date and program the door to lock automatically at a certain time which is nice, if you are expecting someone. There are 3 volume levels to choose from.The finish is elegant, and the 4 AA batteries are still going strong.

I have used Kevo door locks for over a decade, but they are starting to not show their age, they look great, but they do not work like they used to. They have bolt jams and are not as secure on the door. They are also battery eaters, 4 double AA that seem to let me know in a week they need to be changed again. Time for a new smart lock. I wanted one that was different than the Kevo, this seemed to fit the bill. I am using this one from the kitchen into the garage. With the Kevo the Alexa app never worked with it, I was unable to tell the echo to lock the door so was manually doing it. What is the point of a smart lock then? This one can be opened with a code, key, and also a fingerprint! I found it to be an easy install. It did not take that much time, and everything lined up perfectly. I love that family members can get in with a fingerprint instead of a FOB, don’t get me started on those, I bought enough to keep Kevo in business. Kevo also lost me after buying a third smart lock, they ran several hundred back then and the mechanism did not work in it, and they refused to fix it. It was sealed in the box, I opened it after the return window though but when they would not honor their own warranty on products, I was done. This is is so much cheaper, however, it does more than the Kevo! I think I might be replacing the other Kevo locks with this one. I am very happy with this upgrade!

The media could not be loaded.  This smart lock is one of my favorite purchases of all time. It allows you to unlock the door using either a fingerprint, key fob, or security code. You can also unlock it manually using a key in case the batteries die. It is nice that it comes with a matching doorknob but I decided not to install it as my current doorknob has a key lock and the one that comes with this smart lock does not.Installation is very simple. It is very similar to any other deadbolt. There are 2 screws that secure the back side of the lock to the front side. After tightening those, you plug in the connector on the back side, then there are 3 screws for the back cover where the batteries go.After that the setup is very simple, there is a set button behind the battery cover. After pushing that it displays control menu on the LCD screen. From there its fairly simple to figure out, you create an admin. Assign a fingerprint, key fob, and security code. Then you can create any other normal or casual accounts using the admin.As you might see in the video, the fingerprint sensor took about 4 tries to read mine. However I don't consider that an issue with this lock. I have issues with EVERY fingerprint scanner I ever have to use, even my own smartphone. Also my wife has her fingerprint set up on this lock and it works every time for her on the 1st try. I personally prefer to use the key fob or enter my security code and it works just fine.Overall I am VERY happy with this purchase! Would easily recommend to anyone and everyone!
