Shivani ji never disappoints.....and as usual she is again successful in putting the main character and the reader both,in dilemma at the end of the book.The beginning was tough for me to make a picture of the happenings but very soon i started getting a good grip and understanding of the story being told and it keeps getting more and more interesting and the writing is so beautiful that the reader could himself imagine each and every bit of the scenes taking place in his own mind very clearly.The book shows you a thin line which exists between Self respect and Stubbornness.Its a go to read for the people who love to read Hindi and even for them who don't.It will give you a picture of the lifestyle in the hills and mountains in INDIA post independence.....

Very interesting must read. Good writer from hills. Lesson for all who says city life is best. Good work. Thanks.

cant go wrong with a Shivani novel

Kalindi gives you a great example of the society in those days in Almora and other Northern places. The sketch gives you the impression of real feel of the places. Though the ending was not definite and complete yet it's was a great cross road where Shivani drops her pen down for Kalindi life. I enjoyed the book a lot.

कालिंदी बहुत वर्ष पहले लिखी गयी पुस्तक है अच्छी है परंतु शिवानी ने अपनी हर कहानी में महिलाओं को पुरुषों द्वारा पीड़ित ही बताने का भरपूर प्रयास किया है किसी किसी कहानी में तो अपने पिता तक को भी विलेन ही दर्शाया है शायद इसलिये उनकी पुस्तकें उस समय में अत्यधिक प्रचलित हुई होंगी मैं तो इसको पुरषों के प्रति नीच मानसिकता ही बोलूंगा, जिस तरह वामपंथियों ने हमारे इतिहास को और हमारे शूर-वीरों को दरकिनार करके अंग्रेजों ओर मुसलमान आक्रांताओं को हाई लाइट किया उसी केटेगरी में शिवानी के नावेल आते हैं, आक थू !
