I have been looking for this kind of exploration of Allan Holdsworth’s musical theory for decades. Thank you Brett for going down the rabbit hole, and finding real concepts hiding in plain sight. This is the first time I have applied suggested approaches and heard the expected results creep into my own playing.

This is absolute gold for guitar players who want to study the playing and composition of Allan Holdsworth.Brett has done an incredibly detailed and comprehensive job with this book.Thank you for the study!!!

I have spent the last month or so going through this book in stages, first just read through it then read again and start applying the ideas then third read again and study deeper and deeper!. (Yes it’s very Holdsworth intensive not just a title n usual basic content, this book is heavy!)This is an amazing work by Brett Stine, I have already learnt so much! While it has plenty of lines and stuff from Holdsworths music, the way Brett presents Allan’s approach is very simplistic, and easy to follow. I am a self taught musician so I have spent longer learning things like jazz scales etc and this book just takes your understanding to a whole new level where you can begin to see connections you didn’t before.The most value I’ve got from this so far is how so many of the scales work together and is more about really developing your own new and unique style of playing rather than just being a clone of someone else. Brett helps you understand how Allan thought of music and how he approached musical ideas.If you have a decent knowledge of your major modes minor scales and some basic diminished stuff this book will really help you go so much further and beyond! Excellent value for the price, but life is what you put into it, if you do the study n the work you get the rewards! And so far this book is very rewarding for me. Looking forward to more from this Author.Buy this book the study material will last you years! And then there is volume 2 yet to discover!
