MAKES A GOOD ORNAMENT BUT ISN'T FIT FOR PURPOSE
iT LOOKEED ATTRACTIVE AND WAS MUCH CHEAPER THAN SOME OF THE OTHER FEEDERS. It fell apart within a few days as very flimsy and not fit for purpose. I guess you get what you pay for. Now I have to spend double the amount for a functional feeder that is sturdy and is fit for purpose. A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY IN MY OPINION. VERY FLIMSY BUT LOOKS GOOD. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THIS PRODUCT.

ABSOLUTE RUBBISH, DONT BOTHER
This item arrived Saturday 30th Jan.Opened to find sides loose with one of nails showing fully on outside of housing, poor build and dangerous for squirrel..Pulled out nial and nailed in correctlyvaling with additional nails to strengthen it. Sunday, fitted feeder to decking post and filled. Approx 2hrs later we had a squirrel. By Monday 1st of Feb, less than 3 whole days the perspex front has gone a a piece of the side broken. Basically it is no longer performs any better than throwing nuts on the floor. So to recap, arrived shoddily built, dangerous to squirrel and useless in 3 days.* Review addition*Sourced items for £19 to make my own.. Will post later when built. Items standard shop purchase so 2x feeders possible.

Fell apart when a squirell landed on it, same as many other people have said.
Looks nice, but totally useless... Why did I forget to read the reviews? It lasted a few days. A squirrel jumped onto it and the bottom fell out. it's far too flimsy, the base is held on by four small nails from the bottom, no surprise it fell apart! Squirrel didn't seem to pleased with being thrown to the floor but landed on his feet and was more than happy with his bounty of a hundred or so nuts.So i thought I'd get a replacement and this time screw the bottom on and maybe add some glue before using it. The second picture I have added is how the replacement looked on ARRIVAL in the box.

Waste of money!
After having it for only 2 months, the front has completely gone now. The listing said "Now with added fixing to secure Perspex vision panel". The Perspex panel has been falling out since the first week! So, I dread to think how bad the previous version was. It's now got no front at all, so is just a complete waste of space.Do yourself a favour and DO NOT waste your money on this! We spent less on another make of these boxes about 4 years ago and it's still going strong. I wish I could have got another one of those instead of this thing.Further Update:Within hours of writing this review, the lid has now gone off it! It's only fit for one thing now...

Not squirrel-proof!
We've purchased a set of squirrel-proof bird feeders, as the local 'Tree-rat' demolished two of our old ordinary ones. Feeling sorry for taking away his food source, we bought this feeder, just for him. The operation was simple- he just had to lift the lid to access the food, but I suspect our squirrel was a bit below the norm in the intelligence stakes, as he just ate through the side, meaning it all fell apart! He'll just have to go hungry!

Fine if you add a little DIY
This product looks good but is extremely flimsy. The front fell off mine after ten days of use. Moreover, the product makes a virtue of being constructed from untreated wood (environmentally friendly, etc.). The problem is, this is the UK, and in our climate, untreated wood very soon equals rotten, useless wood.Fortunately, this is an easy fix. Get a few small panel pins and use them to reinforce the back and sides. I'd then recommend using some fence paint, creosote or similar to go over the wood. All this can be done very quickly and THEN you'll have a good product. Our squirrel loves it.

Absolute rubbish
Looks nice but i found the lid hinge to be quite flimsy and the rain is able to get in so the seed box gets quite messy and the seeds sprout. The squirrels seem to like it though and have been using it. I think i will drill some small drainage holes in the bottom and drop in a wood platform to keep the seeds off the floor of the container.Update : 3 months on and the box is falling apart. The rain makes the wood soft and the nails holding the box together comes apart. I've had to keep repairing as best I can. Complete waste of money. Don't buy.

Great if you want to re-make it with glue and screws..
I bought this as the rustic effect would fit in with my bird feeders. Sadly the item was poorly made and after two days in the garden the squirrels had ripped the perspex sheet out and the rain had caused the box to fall apart. My husband remade it so now it's back in the garden but Caveat Emptor comes to mind.
