There are two types of spacers, plastic and silicone. The plastic don't slide as much and are more comfortable in shoes. Both are more comfortable than the silicone variety that wrap around all toes, which creates more tension. Either variety does help to reshape the foot over time and release joint inflamation.

I wear the gel spacers...modified by cutting off one loop... These totally alleviate the pain so that I can walk. The firm spacers are worn when I'm relaxing with shoes off...not really comfortable when walking, because of the rigidity.

She prefers the soft and says she can even wear them in her slippers comfortably. The firm are a little too firm for her but she will keep them to keep trying on days she has her feet up.

Package comes with four pairs of toe separators in total (2 firm and 2 soft gel).I've been wearing toe separators for years and really like the soft gel style. I found these a little hard to get used to. I'm used to separators that have a small gel around the toes held together with a gel base under the toes. These separators cover almost half the toes and have indents between them to keep the toes side by side. I found the indentations kept moving between the toes and would not align properly. After wearing them for a while this stopped once I got used to it and was able to align the toes properly.I did not like the firm ones but found the more I wore them the better they felt. They didn't hurt wearing them but are not as soft as the gel. I had the same issue with aligning the toes. In general with all my toe separators it took a while to get used to them. Found it's important when wearing these to make sure the indentations are perfectly matched between each toe so they'll stay in place. Overall, I would rate this a 4 out of 5.

As someone who has been making the move to minimalist/barefoot shoes, I got these to help my toes further spread out and return to a more natural form for strength and stability.The set comes with 4 pairs of toe spacers, I got them in size medium. 2 sets are very soft silicon and 2 sets that are stiffer/hard silicon.I don't particularly like the hard ones, they don't provide very much separation for my toes. I find they are too easy to wear, and I don't feel any proper stretch. They might work better on someone else's feet.The SOFT ones on the other hand, are perfect. I love how gummy and soft they feel, and they give my toes the perfect amount of stretch. When I take them off, my toes literally stay separated for a few minutes. I've only been wearing them for the last few days, but I can tell they are starting to work.They are easy to wash and store, and so far they haven't been major dust collectors.I'm happy to say I can recommend these! Like I mentioned before, the hard toe separators aren't that great... but the soft gummy ones work really good!
