Loved this book!
There are spoilers for Godkiller in this review, but no spoilers for Sunbringer.Sunbringer is the second of the Fallen Gods books by Hannah Kaner, picking up a couple of weeks after the ending of Godkiller. Kissen, Elogast, and Inara (and Skediceth!) each have their own journeys in this book, and we get the additional POV of King Arren.Thinking Kissen has died after her fight with with Hseth, Elogast, Inara, and Skediceth make their way back Kissen's family in Lesscia. Elogast leaves Inara with Yatho and Telle to keep her safe while he tries to find a way to defeat King Arren. Inara, not happy to be left behind after losing Kissen, looks for her own ways to get revenge on the king. Meanwhile, Kissen is trying to make her way home after falling into Osidisen's sea with Hseth. While I liked Godkiller, I did find it a little hard to get through, but I enjoyed it enough to want to read Sunbringer, and I am so glad that I did. I loved Sunbringer, I found it to be a faster pace than Godkiller (I know there was a lot of world building in Godkiller, but it was significantly shorter than Sunbringer and took me almost twice as long to read). I really loved that there was more interactions with the other gods in this book, and we got more background on Inara and her family history. This was an exceptionally well written, fast paced, and exciting follow up to Godkiller, and I cannot wait to read what Hannah Kaner writes next!

Such a good fantasy series

I actually really enjoyed the journey with Elo, Inara and Kissen. For most of the book the characters are separated but I think it worked well because it allowed us to see who they are when they are without each other.Kissen remains my favorite character but Skedi actually was a close second! Heβs such a sweet boi. Elo was very noble and determined but he is clearly not very good at considering the people who care about him. Both Arren and Ina needed him at different times in their lives and both times he was so blind. Now Arren is an idiot and he was an adult so I donβt forgive him for shit. But Ina is a kid and she really needed that stability. Elo might be right but what was the cost to Inara? The ending was bananas in the best way and I canβt wait for the third (and hopefully final) book!

In depth and fascinating world
Picking up right where Godkiller left off, the continued journeys of Inara, Kissen and Elogast as the race to stop Arren, the would be Godking. Even more twists and turns and shocking revelations. Hannah Kaner has created such an exciting and interesting world, with Gods and their worship being outlawed. Weaving in the different relationships people have with gods, and even the godsβ personalities. I am so excited for the 3rd book to come out. 5/5βοΈ for sure!!

Not as good as the first one
First one was much better. This one I struggled to get through. Too much politics for me with a lot less fantasy escapism. Zero romance. Meh.

Bridge book
Definitely not as interesting as the first, more political and setting up for the series to end I believe! Still liked it alot

A remarkable sequel
Once again, took some time to get into. But the build up was needed for the end. Holy moly. I shall await with great anticipation for the conclusion in book three.

Phenomenal
Continues to build the story with our erstwhile knight, former king, godkiller, gods & supporting friends we meet along the way. There are plot twists - soooo good - that make this review difficult NOT to reveal spoilers. Also, after reading book 2, how in the world was Hannah rejected for 7 years for this trilogy?!?! READ THESE BOOKS!!!

Read this ASAP
I was less than thrilled with the first book in the trilogy and did not have high hopes for this bookβ¦. BUT- I was blown away by this book. I was hanging on to the edge of my seat and trying to figure out how things were going to unfold!

Felt Slower than Book 1, but Very Good!
I think when you look overall at what actually happened in this book the answer is... Not really a lot? There's a lot in the last 1/3 maybe, but the 2/3 of the book feels more like someone trying to hit their word count.I appreciate the world building and the lore building and I'm taking this book as Kaner tying up ends from Book 1 and settling us in for the big finale in the next book.I am SO here for Ina's character development, she's killing it. Kissen too. The pair seem to be developing in the opposite ways from each other. Ina becoming a woman, hardened and discovering her power. Kissen discovering a want for life, a softer edge to herself, that relationships and vulnerability aren't always weaknesses.I can't wait for book 3.

No sagging middle book syndrome
Sunbringer. What can I say about this other than it blew all my expectations away? It improved on the overarching story, taking us from smaller perspectives of the world to understanding the fire burning in the distance in the grander scheme of things.Even when you think things might settle down and become saggy, they instead pick up and twist and turn and nothing is as it appears. There is no sagging middle book syndrome here. By the end, you'll know what I mean.If you've read Godkiller and loved it, then Sunbringer is a guaranteed 5 star.

Amazing!
First thoughts - This book followed on nicely to Godkiller. I loved the touch of Arran's perspective. I love how all of the characters stayed the same.Final impressions- Wow! I need book 3! I was quite sad how Kissen only got reunited with the others at the end.I love the way the books are written, and I personally feel they are very easy to follow.I am so excited for Fallen Gods 3 and I have HUGE expectations for this!
