Greenfingers
This is a charming story of one man's finding redemption in becoming a gardener. As a young man, he accidently committed a crime which resulted in his incarceration. He felt himself to be of no value and simply wanted to be left alone in prison. A new idea for prisoner reform placed him in a position to find a quality of life and quality in himself. As he became more interested in gardening, he began to relate to others and they to him. This little film has joyous moments and moments of deep reflection. And, of course, it has Clive Owen which is always a good thing.

A favorite movie
If you like flower gardening, English movies, and a good story with humor and a little romance, I highly recommend this movie. I was so happy to find it with closed captioning. Great acting and the characters are all interesting.

Little Gem
This is a movie I had never even heard of, but with my new found love of Clive Owen movies, I had to check this one out. I just loved it, and I enjoyed watching it a second time, and will probably enjoy it as much the third. It's a sweet, albiet, mostly predictable movie, but I just don't think there is anything wrong with that. I hope that with Clive Owen becomming even more well know that this little gem will get a second chance to be discovered. It's in the model of so manyn other British comedies that come our way, and it's a movie that will keep a smile on your face right through to the end credits. I think people should treat themselves to this sweet prize.

Such a good movie!
Why more people haven't heard of this movie I can't imagine! It is such a good movie and I never tire of watching it. Clive Owen and David Kelly were particularly good in it. Worth every penny and then some and please do not stop the movie when the credits begin to roll at the end otherwise you will miss a very funny remark that Clive Owen makes. I love this movie.

Greenfingers Movie
I have seen the film before and loved it. I wanted to find it to add it to my film collection. Despite its quirky quality; it has so much heart. It will leave you feeling all things are possible. it is based on a true story of inmates who gain a passion for gardening and enter a competition at the Hampton Gardens Flower Exhibition.

A great story
Beware - it is in Region 2 which will not play on US machinesThe story is based on a true story of prision reform in England. A group of inmates end up competing in a royal garden show and starting an amazing program for work therapy. The language is strong (as it would be in prison) and some of the action is what one would expect of prisoners but still a good story.

Gardening in prison and out
A delightful film based on a true story, about a group of prisoners who become interested in gardening, and eventually make a garden at the Hampton Court Flower Show. Great performances from all concerned, especially the late David Kelly as the aged Fergus, who starts the garden passion, and Helen Mirren as the elegant gardening expert who is impressed with the convicts gardening skills. Only one small quibble, I would have liked to know what happened to the boy who ran away after being falsely suspected of having something to do with a robbery at a house the prisoners were working at. You don't have to be interested in gardening to be charmed by this warm and funny film, it will delight you anyway.

Uplifting!
First caught this film on a flight, not an ideal way to my mind to watch a film, and fell asleep halfway through due to jet lag. However, what I had seen had captured my imagination and watched it when it was shown on TV. Since then I have seen it about four times and it never fails to lift the spirits.Everyone in it is a joy, very well cast, but for me it is David Kelly who steals the show portraying great pathos when playing a man who knows that he only has himself to blame. You don't have to love (or even like) gardening to enjoy "Greenfingers", just sit back and enjoy a treasure of a film.

Well Worth A Watch !
An interesting film that despite being somewhat predictable oozes a magic charm all of its' own together with some fine acting performances. The mix of prisoners and gardening may not be unique but it is unusual as a subject for a movie and the whole project is carried off quite well. Special mentions for Clive Owen, Dame Helen Mirren, Warren Clarke and especially to David Kelly for his twinkle in the eye performance as the old lag who helps give them all a new purpose in life.
