Well Made
This wooden stacking set is exquisitely made. The wood is smooth and durable and the nesting boxes fit perfectly into each other. My LO plays with these a lot. I really like that these both nest AND stack along with having different colors for each size. This helps with those phases LO goes through to learn cognitive skills such as size and color and motor skills such as nesting and stacking. They are easy for a LO to use with a lightweight and durable wood. Only caution would be for smell which I assume was from the varnish. I did not notice this (so not a heavy smell) until I saw my LO sniffing it. My LO likes to smell things a lot, so I took a sniff and it smelled like varnish or chemicals. I simply let them sit for a few days with no LO playing with them after receiving them and the smell quickly dissipated until there was no smell.

The BEST little stacking and play toy
I bought this for my 10 month old for Christmas. I love toys that are well made and can grow with my kids. These are perfect now for stacking, and opening/closing. Later, we can add a play kitchen and create a whole new way to play with these! I’m adding these to my favorite gifts to give babies / toddlers! Highly recommend!

Very good quality
This toy is very simple, but the coordination that children use to stack, open and close lids is very interesting, they spend hours mesmerized and concentrated. We loved it.

Toddler-approved, but disappointing quality
The little one I've been watching recently is in a phase right now where containers and lids are fascinating, so I thought this set would be very appealing. I appreciate the use of natural materials, and I like that the lids are color-coded to match their respective bowls. The fact that they can be used as a stacking toy and a nesting toy provides two more ways to play, on top of the the lid-fitting activity. The nesting also assists with storage and keeping all the pieces organized and together. On the other hand, whatever paint, pigment, or other substance was used to color the bottoms of the bowls and the tops of the lids, it was already rubbing off when the package arrived. There are smears of color which transferred from the bowls onto the interior of the box or the inside of another bowl, and that's disappointing in a brand new product.Next I was surprised and put off by the texture, most noticeable inside the bowls. At first I thought I was seeing swathes of rough, splintery areas, but upon closer inspection it looks like the inversion of that. I don't know how well I can explain this, but it's like there are very many tiny pockets where the inner layer of the bowl does not come out uniformly to the same level, like pockmarks. If the bowl wasn't wood, I would say it looks like air bubbles had formed and then burst. Maybe the tree had a disease or was tunneled through by insects, or perhaps it was a type of tree with a very spongy texture. I don't know what the issue is; I only know the result. Since the surface is actually receding in those places rather than protruding, there's nothing there to reach out and poke little fingers, but the material seems subpar, and I'm having a hard time understanding why it wasn't rejected. The last problem I noticed is that either the largest bowl is not a true circle around its rim, or else the lid is not a proper circle. When the lid is on, no matter how I rotate it, it doesn't line up properly with the bowl. If they were both perfectly round, this wouldn't happen, so one or both are off, but they're not even off together, where they'd at least match one another. This doesn't prevent the next size of bowl from fitting inside, nor does it prevent the lid from fitting the bowl's brim, so I'm not talking about a crisis which would ruin the activity. Not by any means. It's chiefly a cosmetic issue, but one which seems like another indication of a lack of quality control.I want to be very clear that the child enjoys playing with the set, but between the colors rubbing off, the inferior wood used, and the imprecise woodworking, I couldn't give a high rating.
