good one-off game play, lovely aesthetic
This was utterly charming fun once, but I'm not sure about its replayability. I think it might make for a good gift because it's got a distinct style and novelty factor. It's not quite as interactive with items as the back of the box makes it appear, for instance the sushi platter on the rear is distinctly angled into a 3d space unless the rest of the flat items, making it look like they might be actual pieces, but they're just a printed sheet - it's a little thing, but it still felt a bit misleading. The gameplay was fun but I would have liked a couple of avenues between the literal route here and more possibly abstract or layered puzzles.

Nice idea for teens
I love the design of the box and the theme. The quality is good, nice idea for teens.

High quality game
This I caught my eye immediately because of the Japanese style. Really high quality, well thought out and fun evening entertainment game. It is hard, as can be expected with an escape room, more people is better to get your heads together, so definitely one for a dinner party.

Pretty to look at but a bit of a letdown
This escape room is presented in a nice sturdy box, all of the artwork is beautiful and the paper all feels to be of good quality and well printed. There are tracing paper sheets provided to use so you don't spoil the pages, and a notepad too for making notes throughout. There are hints provided to help when needed and even an answers page which is sealed meaning you don't accidentally see the answers and spoil it for yourself which is good. The premise of the escape room is a bit vague but it does follow a good Japanese theme throughout which makes it a bit more immersive. It does say that you cannot use your phone for anything other than a timer and to watch the introduction video, however there is an element of maths involved that if you're not good with your fractions and percentages, you may end up having to use a calculator. It was a little bit too literal at times which led us down a bit of a rabbit hole trying to figure out what something "meant" and unfortunately the end was a bit of an anticlimax. We were expecting to have a final puzzle that concluded the escape room, but instead it was the most simple of all of the puzzles and to find out if you were correct you just had to go through the instruction book and look at the answers page. It felt like a bit more effort could have been made to make it a bit more of an exciting end. There were 5 of us working together on this and despite it saying 2-6 people on the box, I would say 3 is the optimal amount as there were lots of times where 1 or 2 people were sat doing nothing as a lot of the puzzles were really only for 1 person to do.It does provide instrubctions on how to reset it but does require you to print out new items so would not be of the same quality as the original and one of the items cannot be replaced but once the puzzle has been solved its very obvious what needs to be done with it, so bare this in mind if you intend to get it and then pass it on to someone else.Overall, it was a fun enough activity, albeit with a bit of a disappointing finish. The story felt a little bit of an afterthought and disjointed. It did have some challenging elements that required some lateral thinking which made it more exciting but on the whole it didn't quite deliver what we had anticipated it would, as when seeing the amount of time and effort that has gone into the design and artwork of the components, you expected to be blown away by the content. I would potentially try another one in the range but unfortunately I was not wowed as I hoped I would be by this one.

Great escape room for family and friends
The best escape room games are achievable but challenging and should take most groups more than 50 minutes and less than an hour. That adds to a sense of urgency, jeopardy and fun. This game seems to meet all those criteria and provides the basis of a whole evening for family or friends to play together. The puzzles require a mix of logic, experience, analysis and imagination, this makes it ideal for groups of 4 or more where everyone will get the chance to contribute. The minimum age of 14 is about right as a result. This room is nicely designed and has a quite unique theme and will be a welcome variation on a theme. Highly recommended.

Fun play at home escape game
This game is fun - you do need a host who does all the set up - once you have played once though you probably wont use it again but as escape rooms cost around £10 p/p it provides a good value alternative and you can always swap it with a friend after playing

Great
This was super fun. Not easy and not too hard. I would say medium level challenge. Players were 12-40 years old so this works well for different ages. It comes with everything one would need and it is small and compact box. You can really only play it once unless have different groups of people and you would end up as games master.
