Years before dashcams arrived, being in the film/TV industry, I put miniature cameras, the kind used in-car, when making documentaries about the emergency services, on headrest mounts filming through the front and rear windshields, as protection in the event of an accident.Since dashcams with GPS/driving style/speed, etc, came in, powered from the cigarette socket, I needed a multi-purpose splitter with a broader range of sockets, which this provides, taking 3 cigar-types and USBs for cellphones, etc.Often, locations are in places I don't know, so I use a satnav ap on one of my cell phones; unfortunately, they soak up the battery in around 2 hours, so I keep a spare phone for calls/texts, which I switch on, to check, when I am off the road. The cigar sockets can be switched on/off, independently, and have blue pilot lights to indicate when they are operative, also, this a set of red lights, indicating that the power source to the unit is active. This means I can run both dashcams, and, when not in use, re-charge the phone with the satnav ap, from the USB, in readiness for when I next need it, as well as having the phone for calls fully charged when I am off the road.The one thing I would draw to everyone's attention is that, if you have the unit on the passenger seat, whilst driving in the dark, put something over it, as, recently, I noticed, out of the corner of my eye, some blue and red lights flickering, distractingly, on the front passenger door window, which I realised was the reflection of the lights from the unit sitting on the front seat. So, depending on your vehicle's design, either cover the unit during night driving, or put is somewhere, where it is masked.

I was doing a trip from the West Midlands down to Devon for a few days. I needed the cigarette charger socket for three things: to charge my phone, to run the Tom Tom Sat Nav and to work my dash cam.I purchased this Meidi socket adapter and it arrived the day before my trip. It was brilliant. I’m so pleased with it . Thank you. It powered all three things but has individual switches to turn each socket off when not required. A really brilliant product. Exactly what I needed.

Good: It feels fairly well made, all the sockets and USB ports work as they should and I like that the plug is small (handy in my car because the cigarette lighter is underneath the handbrake for some reason...) It also came with a spare fuse and was packaged really well.Bad: the lights are not at all how they appear in the picture. I thought it would look nice wired into my armrest giving it a blue glow at night time. Instead it just has 3 little LEDs on the outside of the charger so the sockets aren't actually lit up at all. It also came with a strip of double sided sticky tape. I tried to stick it inside the armrest standing up but despite holding it in place for several minutes it didn't stick at all.Overall it seems like a quality item but I'm a bit annoyed that the picture shows the cigarette lighters glowing blue when in reality you just get small blue lights on the outside.

Bought really as an add on for the car in case we need more than 1 charger operating at any one time. What i do like about it is a) the plug that goes into the cigarette lighter socket is at right angle, which in my Audi means it keeps the cables low and out of the way b) it has a blue led glow, looks pretty c) it has a battery charge indicator- not sure how accurate it is but nice to know it isnt flat d) loads of outputs for both USB devices and cigarettes. Lots of cable to allow you to place the unit almost anywhere in the car. Good price on top of that, so whats not to like. Thinking now should I take up smoking since I've got so many cigarette sockets!

Get it if you only have enough space somewhere or you can simply stick it with what is supplied. It is very powerful, very nice looking and very sturdy, the cable is long enough to put the charger anywhere at the front half.For my self i don't use the USB sockets as the hole beneath the CD player is very tight and i had to cram the charger inside which fitted perfectly, therefore I bought a for USB sockets car charger.Very highly recommend.

We use this for our kids DVD players. It's very good as we can charge 3 DVD players and two extra things from 1 place. Simple to use and with the buttons it even helps with safety as my kids like to touch alot of things.

It works well in my car, the on and off buttons for each port are quite useful for me, it's well made and sturdy, I like the fact that it lights up letting me know what's on and off, nice piece of kit.

I was having issues with charging my phone in my Picanto. The USB port didn’t work and I was using the cigarette lighter socket for my dash cam. This device does what it says and is brilliant.
