What a gem!
This book is such a gem for families who follow Charlotte Mason's philosophies, and really any Christian household. I bought this instead of the original parables and am so glad I did. The writing is very easy to digest, and both my children and me absolutely love the stories. They are so well written and make me tear up, while also instilling great lessons such as obedience, faith, etc. in children. A more shallow critique is that I just wish the cover was a little more attractive. There is nothing like a beautiful book on the shelf!

Sweet book with valuable lessons
I feel like this could really help with children. Now I have this book for my 4/6 year old. Both of my kiddos love reading by themselves. This one is past the comprehension of my 4year old but not 6. However, this is a great read aloud to kids. It provides lessons on life that some kids (including my own) lack at times. Sometimes a parable is a gentle way to teach a tough lesson. These stories are longer than most bedtime stories I read to my kids. The 4 year old normally falls asleep before it ends. But it holds the attention of my 6 year old well.

Will be a great read
Well written. I love that the Bee chapter uses the correct gender for the drone bees (since the original does not).Just wish it was a prettier book. The cover is dull, but the content is rich.

Great book
This book is so interesting- such great parables/stories. They are very relatable to real life and it gives my kids and me a lot to talk about after reading one.

Clearly paraphrased classic
Parables from Nature contains stories about the natural world along with a Christian lesson. The original text reflects its Victorian origin with long sentences and complicated ramblings. This paraphrase helps make that text accessible to today's readers, particularly young ones who might get lost in the dense Victorian prose.
