Great for portable use
I was reimbursed the purchase price of this transmitter. That being said, I consider this to be a fair and balanced review of the transmitter. This is a small transmitter and it seems to be made for using as a wireless mic, when making presentations, either in a large room or even outside. I didn't have a large room to try, but I did try it outside. I found that it worked pretty well up to about 100 feet. At greater distances it could be over ridden by local background cross-talk from other local and stronger FM stations. The transmitter has 4 power levels, but there didn't seem to be much difference in the distance it would transmit. If used inside, the walls of the building may lower the background cross-talk and allow it to be picked up at a longer distance. The transmitter comes with a 'plug in mic', that can be clipped on your shirt and the transmitter stored in your shirt pocket. A cell phone running an FM radio app, can pick up the signal and allow better hearing, no matter where you are, within 100 feet of the presenter, or a portable radio can be tuned to the transmitter frequency and the volume turned up and that makes a good amplifier. Something like this could make it valuable in a church meeting to enable the hard of hearing to hear much better. If you use a radio as an amplifier, you may get a loud squeal of feedback so keep the volume down when the transmitter and radio are close together. Move them further apart and the noise will diminish. The transmitter itself comes in a box with all the rest of the parts to get it on the air and using it. My box didn't contain the belt clip, so I emailed the address given in the user manual and told them about the missing part. They are sending the part, but after a week it isn't here yet. The battery is included and will need to be charged before using for any length of time. The transmitter is 5 volts like most small devices, and it comes with, both an AC and DC adapter, to charge it and a charging cable is included also. The antenna screws on with a left hand thread, which is strange, but it goes on with no problems. Be sure and screw the antenna onto the transmitter before inserting the battery. Mine was powered on when I put the battery in and without the antenna that could have damaged the transmitter. ANY transmitter should have the antenna installed before powering it up. Don't ask me how I know this.I did find one glitch in the software when powering the transmitter up. The manual says to hold the power button on until it powers up. When doing that, the transmitter will power up but if you let go of the power button after the screen lights up, it will lock the transmitter up and it does nothing from there on. You can't even turn off. To solve that problem, remove the battery for a few seconds and then reinstall it . To keep that from happening, just keep holding the power on button until the screen has information showing on it. Then release the button and it will work great. The included manual tells you how to operate the unit, however the manual wasn't written by a native English speaker, and can be a little hard to follow sometimes. I got a good chuckle out of some of the terminology used. The transmitter does work and if you don't expect it to do something it wasn't designed to do, it does it's job well. When you store the transmitter, between uses, charge the battery and then remove it and re-install it backwards. That way it will be with the transmitter, but won't be able to drain the battery if the power button gets pushed down and turns the unit on. I think the price is fair for what the unit does, and will buy another if this one gets lost.Update: I received the belt clip today. About 2 1/2 weeks from when I notified them of the fact it was missing. Coming from Hong Kong, I felt that is a reasonable amount of time to ship. I am still satisfied with the purchase, and I am looking for a chance to use it as a portable sound system.

Does not turn on
Received the transmitter this week (I live in Colombia and had to be shipped to a different addess and then to me) and it will not turn on. Tried changing the charging cable, nothing. Bought another battery (which arrived today thinking that could be the solution) not turning on either. The radio is defective. First time I buy something off Amazon that doesn't work so it's kind of off-putting.

it works for connecting a computer to a radio
I bought this transmitter to replace a similar product I had been using for 10 years, it finally died. The battery is not an issue for me since I keep it plugged into the computer. It transmits to several radios on our property. The longest distance we have between the computer and a radio is about 100 meters. Having many frequencies is a good feature since there are strong signal on some frequencies, we just chose ones that have little or no transmission.

Good FM transmitter for use in the car/home to patch in your phone or mp3 player to the FM radio or use as belt pak wireless mic
This small FM transmitter works well , it has 4 RF power settings , you can also change the output frequency or select from mic or line level inputs. It comes with a clip on mic like you might see someone use clipped to the short or tie on a TV news cast.It also comes with a nice rechargeable battery pack like the type used in cell phones. also a wall charger and car charger and 1/8 line auto cable.the screw-in antena is of a one conductor type and I dont think you could use any other type of antenna with this unit, but it works welland I did not hear any microphonics ( noise in the signal from bumping it around ) this unit has more then enough power when set on power level 3 and 4 to override local corporate FM stations with in your line of sight of the unit so you should not hear any noise from radio stations as you drive around from city to city. range would be good enough to reach from one buss to others traveling with you on the road.I was able to get it going with out having to read the info sheet , but it was complete for anyone that needs it , packing was good and shipment time was great.

Poor Quality Product - Save Your Money.
Arrived with defective control buttons. Impossible to turn device off. Supplied microphone is cheaply made crap. FM signal is not strong enough to cross a room let alone reach the "long range" they advertised. Truly don't waste your time on this product.
