Good infuser. Shame about the dimensions.
I bought this infuser after my previous one decided it wouldn't close properly once it was filled with tea. It works extremely well at filtering out bits of loose leaf tea from my tea mug. I also like the fact that it's dishwasher safe. Unfortunately, the reason I've only given it four stars and not five is because the description claimed it would fit a small teapot, yet the opening is much too big for mine. I've sort of solved the problem by using the aforementioned previous infuser in my teapot and using this new one as a filter when I pour the tea into my mug. Nevertheless, it would be nice to be able to actually put the infuser directly in my teapot without any fiddly workarounds.

worth while trying
I was not unhappy with this tea strainer, but after a while I bought another type of stainless steel tea strainer (not the "mesh" type as this one). I am still using this strainer with stainless steel MESH, but it does not wash as easily as the "metal" one and it does not fit so well on some of my mugs.Having said that, it is still a very good quality strainer (compared with so many others!)Having used this one, my preference goes to the type of stainless steel strainer that is not "mesh" and have colourful anti-slip handles.

An excellent one cup tea infuser.....
I have recently got into brewing my own loose leaf teas, and was wanting a convenient method of brewing just one cup for myself without all the fuss of getting a teapot out and strainer etc. I was looking at those strainer balls, and then stumbled across this. I did my research and read through the already favourable reviews of these types of product. Somebody in a review of a similar post mentioned this one cup version sold by leaf was the best option.Well I can tell you they were not wrong. This is a great little infuser / strainer and works really well. It is just big enough to sit in most cups comfortably but also gives the tea enough room to move around and expand during the infusion process. It makes a lovely one cup of loose leaf tea. I have used it many many times now and not even the smallest amout of tea leaf has escaped into the mug. It has a great fine filter mesh that just works. The small loose fitting lid that comes with it can be used as a lid when in storage but can be turned upside down so that you can stand the strainer in it when you have finished brewing your tea, ensuring you have a mess free worktop. Good times.......If your in the market for a one cup loose leaf tea strainer / infuser then just get this. Great value for money, produces an excellent cup of tea each time and just works!

Perfect for those who like proper tea
As a black coffee drinker for many years I have got back into drinking tea, but I like that black as well and the normal run of the mill supermarket tea bags just won't do. I found a tea that I liked, available in non-standard, very good tea bags which were quite expensive. It was also available as a loose tea so I had to find an infuser. I bought two of these, one for me and one for my wife, and have found them to be first class. The tea brews well and there is no loss of leaves into the mug, both because of the fibre mesh of the infuser. The base (also lid) allows the infuser to be stood without making a mess after the tea has been brewed so it can be allowed to cool before emptying. Another advantage is that some teas can be used twice without loss of flavour or strength and so can be left in the infuser ready for the next brew.I was so impressed with these that I have ordered two for family members who need just a small prompt to encourage them to drink 'proper' tea!

Flattens
If you're using leaves and any other type of strainer isn't providing the result you want, great use this. However there's an issue. I make my tea strong. This somehow manages to flatten the flavour. Tea loses its flavour after using this, I've tried it with two or three types, the same effect with each, it's still hot and wet, but the taste has almost ceased to exist.

super-fine filter, great value
This German tea strainer uses a super-fine mesh attached to a black plastic frame. The effect is comparable to tea bags or a coffee filter: it works well for all kinds of tea except the most powdery, low quality grades. The lid doubles as a convenient place to rest the infuser containing wet leaves, saving mess and preparing for another infusion. The mesh doesn't seem to rust and is fused to the super-hard plastic frame. The unit is definitely dishwasher-safe: mine have all gone through the machine dozens of times. The plastic seems to be extremely high food grade and I haven't noticed any effect at all on the hot water (I tested it without leaves, with just boiling water), even when new. As the design is quite tall, it works perfectly with a Zero Japan ceramic teapot instead of the original coarse mesh. I also use another for making mugs of tea at work. A great design.Functionally identical products include the green versions Tea Infuser and Permanent Tea Filter / Infuser - Cups / Small Pots .

Stylish and easy to use
This is the first tea infuser I've had, having previously always used teabags, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. I wanted to blend mint teas with camomile and other flowers so I needed an infuser. I choose this one because I didn't think it would take up too much space in the cup as some other infusers I looked at. I've found this one to be very good for what I need. I like how I can put the lid on while it's brewing to keep it hot as I sometimes leave it for 10 minutes, depending on the tea. The lid is also useful to stand the infuser on when removed from the tea to contain any mess. It isn't difficult to clean up either, even when I've forgotten about it and not washed it up until the next morning.

The best for loose-leaf tea
I stopped using tea bags a year ago and use this strainer several times a day. It's very efficient because it has a very fine mesh - metal infusers with holes are not as good because they don't infuse as well. It's easy to clean too. Thoroughly recommended for the loose-leaf tea in your life.
