Update: unfortunately these grains never grew and eventually started to disappear and die over the course of a 1.5 weeks so I have to reduce my rating. I found other kefir grains on eBay and when they arrived, they were plump and started doubling in size immediately with the organic grass fed whole milk I use, which is the way healthy grains behave. I'd recommend the seller put in work to get their grains healthy and plump before shipping them out, so they will survive their journey and new home.--------They came fast but they were small grains, very hard to see and separate from the milk. However, they are making delicious creamy and non cheesy kefir every 24 hrs, so I'm happy and hope they get bigger!

The grains arrived very fresh looking. I started them in whole milk as the directions explained the day they arrived. Success!! In 3 days the kefir is fermenting just great.

I do not recommend these kefir grains for the following reasons: As the other reviewers stated, they are very small and very slow growing. I received a about a teaspoon of white grains that were moist, but then also a packet of powder very light pink in color, about a teaspoon. The instructions said to dissolve the powder in the cup of milk first, then to add the grains and explained the powder was absolutely necessary it help ensure the grains would activate. I followed instructions. The powder did not fully dissolve. I strained it the next day and discarded the milk per instructions. Then added fresh cup of milk to the jar, also per instructions. For the first week, I was getting what appeared to be kefir and tasted like kefir, however the "grains" were no longer white, they were the color of the powder. So what was the powder? There was no explanation as to what the ingredients in the powder actually was. I steadily increased the amount of milk. Yesterday I made almost a quart, but this morning I had curds and whey! It was difficult to separate the curds from the kefit grains, but I eventually did - curds were white and will dissolve, but grains are pinkish and gelatenous, don't dissolve. I scraped up what I could and added back to jar with fresh milk, but only 2 cups this time. I don't have much confidence these grains will last, so I ordered real organic kefir grains from another seller, just to ensure that if these grains fail, I'll still have other grains to rely on. UPDATE: this product is junk!

First time making kefir. So far so good.

The Kefir grains came in, came late!!! I opened the package, the grains were very small. Followed the instructions, they just didn't take. I don't know what happened, but I strongly suggest that you don't buy this stuff. I do not recommend it. You're wasting your money. It's a rip off. Don't waste your money!!!

Your directions were simple and easy to follow. My kefir came out yummy. The bonus is I got to support a small business.

After following the directions, the kefir grains disintegrated completely in the first soak, The directions also say: "If you have any problem with the product or have any question, please contact us first." However, no contact information is given; no phone number, no email address, no website. Googling the possibly-fictitious brand name "Simply Life Probiotics & Wellness" turns up no website. The seller "BigFloppa Industries" only sells this brand of products, and similarly has no website. I don't know if this is entirely a scam or merely an amazingly incompetent organization.

Great response, received much sooner than expected and the grains are definitely healthy and cared for.
