Good for parties but it’s loud and generates a lot of heat.
The media could not be loaded. I mainly got this to supplement the built-in icemaker for our freezer, which is always running out of ice. But I tried that, and these ice cubes will all freeze together as a giant block of ice.So, the first thing to say is that these ice cubes are meant to be used immediately. They aren’t meant to be frozen and saved for later. The reason is that they get really wet, the process of making new ice cubes causes water to spill over onto the existing ice cubes (melting them), and when you put them in the freezer, they all clump together. The machine does not generate cool air to keep the ice cubes from melting. The bottom ice cubes will completely disintegrate if you don’t use them fast enough. I included a video showing water pouring from the process of making new ice cubes and melting the already made ice cubes. If you try to break them apart after they clump together, these ice cubes just shatter because they are thin and hollow. The only way I found to get them to not stick together is if you remove and freeze them immediately after each drop. It makes 8 cubes per drop, so you have to freeze them in batches of 8. And shake them up as you add each new batch. Every 10 minutes. The quality of the ice cubes is otherwise fine. They are hollow centered so they melt a little faster than solid ice cubes like you get from a built-in ice maker in your freezer. This machine is quite loud (see video). The other downside is that it is like a mini-portable heater. It exhausts a significant amount of heat from the right side of the machine. After you turn it off, be sure to let it do a full cleaning cycle before unplugging it. It takes a couple minutes to power down. It is pretty easy to use, and you can leave it running for hours. I had it going for up to 5 hours in one sitting, no issues. You just need to add water and remove the ice cubes. It stops with an error light after about an hour if you don’t remove the ice cubes before the basket fills, or if the water tank gets too low. The water tank lasts longer than the ice basket before filling. It has a setting or large and small ice cubes. But you’re only supposed to select the large ice cube setting at normal room temperature. The small ice cube setting is only intended for use when you’re using this machine and the ambient room temperature is below 15*, so that’s pretty much pointless for most purposes. The “large” ice cubes are what I would consider small ice cubes. In summary, this is mainly good for parties or other events where the ice cubes will be used immediately.

Handy for the office
I've often wished we had ice at the office, but the freezer in our mini fridge is terrible. I was excited to give this ice maker a try. It took a little patience to figure out how it worked, at first, but now that we have it figured out, it's a neat device. The 'large' ice cubes are a great size. It takes a little while to really get going, but it generates quite a bit of ice if you just let it run for a while, certainly enough for our small office where only maybe two people will want ice during a day. The small ice size didn't seem very useful - they melt super quickly, but the instructions do say to only use that setting in a cold environment. If you forget about it, the ice will melt, the water will return to the reservoir, and the machine will keep making new ice with it (I don't recommend this, I just legit forgot about it one day). I think for the price, it's a pretty good investment in employee morale.

Works as expected
Make ice pretty quickly but takes some extra time after the first the initial setup. The machine put off a bit of heat so I’d keep that in mind when you’re figuring out where to place it. It’s user friendly and works great for what I wanted. It doesn’t make a large amount of ice and the pieces themselves are big so I wouldn’t recommend for parties or gathering but it’s perfect for regular everyday use

Ice is nice.
Overall, I really like this ice maker. It does what it needs to do, which is make ice, and does so reasonably quickly for 1 or 2 people. However, this ice maker suffers from what most counter top ice makers suffer from, which is 0 insulation. Sure, it has a nice clear lid so you can see how much ice is in it, which is nice. But what ends up happening is the ice gets made and then eventually melts, so what you end up with is a constant cycle of making and melting ice. If they would insulate the lid and ice compartment, the ice would last much longer and these would be much more efficient. The ideal way to use these counter-top ice makers, from my experience, is to make the ice and as the bin fills up, you scoop it into ziplock baggies and stick them in the freezer. 3 or 4 baggies of ice are good for a few days, then you aren't just constantly re-freezing water wasting a ton of electricity.4 stars, and a good buy. Would be 5 stars with a double-wall lid and some insulation, though.
