Q: can speakers be engaged with mobile phone when wanting to play

not by itself. you will need to connect the speakers to an amplifier to power them (will also need speaker wire, 12-16 gauge depending on how far away you plan to put the spekaers and the amplifier. 12 guage is better for longer distance but more expensive). the sono amp will power the speakers and also allow you to play songs from your phone. there are other amplifiers that you can ues but this is the easiest option
