They work
bought for a camping trip. we went and found a place to camp off of a forest service road and first night was great. second night we heard deep growling from the bushes so I fired a round off and we heard nothing then it came back so I fired 2 more then It circled around then we fired one more then slowly retreated to the car and triggered the car alarms then watched the bear go through our camp site. had to radio a ranger for help
