Works fine in my Maytag
I have had my Maytag fridge for about 4 years and the plastic ice tray has run into a few kinks in the past. I was able to just twist and place it back for a while but the most recent time something in the ice removing process happened it started making it where the water poured out of the icemaker down into the ice bin which made it where the motor to break and dispense the ice would fail.I looked at the Maytag site first and it was like $130 almost. I got a cherry deal on this fridge and only paid like $500 after rebates so I started looking for cheaper options. This one worked great easy to install 4 philips screws and two standard size AC hex screws to remove the unit purchased here.Working like a charm at half the price of the Maytag store.I will update if it kicks the bucket over an unreasonable timeframe.

My fridge makes ice better than ever
For a long time the ice box was sending liquid water into the ice box and freezing the cubes together into big chunks. A lot of work to keep the cubes moving. One day the cubes stopped coming. I looked up the tray was stuck in one position, and the plastic was all cracked. The last fridge that did that to us we just bought a new fridge and moved the old one to the garage for extra space. Well this time , without a good use for the old fridge, decided to give up for now. Until one day I decided to look up the fridge model and part just to see what there was for parts and lo and behold, a single replaceable unit. Now I know there could have been different things that went wrong but for the price of this I figured why not give it a shot.remove the ice box, unscrew 4 phillips head screws , pop the panel up and slightly off, disconnect the switch wire. set the panel asideunscrew 2 hex screws at the bottom , pop the part up, separate the wiring harness, discard old one, reverse the procedure.attach new icemaker, pop it down, screw the 2 hex in, then put the panel back on, attach the switch wires, screw the phillips screws back in. (btw if the screws drop they just come out the ice hole.)4 hour later, new cubes! And since this one had an intact tray, the cubes no longer freeze together into a huge chunk60 bucks well spent.

Stopped working 2 days after the warranty expired (30 days)
This is the 2nd OEM ice maker I've replaced. The first replacement lasted about 4 months, this latest one only about 1 week. Unfortunately, I let the box sit on the counter for several weeks before installing, so technically it's MY fault that I missed the warranty return window. However, it's clear from other reviews that the short 30 day warranty is there for a reason. This OEM product is junk. I'm technically savvy enough to fix whatever part might be the issue (if I can locate it), but that's not really the point. The fridge is less than 3 years old, so the original equipment failed "quickly" also. I feel that I should put this item on a "subscription" and just replace it every 20 days with the warranty. The one good thing is that it's very easy to install.

Easy to install but doesn’t last long.
I purchased this in August of 2023 and it already stopped working. But was easy to install and made perfect ice. Going to buy one more time and see what happens.
