Works Perfectly
The bowl is small, but it definitely keeps the ants out of the food. I recommend filling a water bottle with water, place the bowl down and then fill the reservoir with water from the water bottle.

It is an easy solution to a big problem
It works for keeping ants out, yes some ants will figure it out but for the most part it works great

It works - but it’s way too small
Highest size available is a medium. Making this a frustrating waste of money for a larger dog: refilling ‘free-feed’ more than twice a day.

Works!!
Tried everything to keep ants out of kitties food. This bowl works like a charm!!It’s a great size for cats (I purchased the small size) and it’s big enough to keep food fresh but not so small I’m constantly filling it back up. I have two kitties that eat out of it for reference. I doSupplement with can food twice a day as they are still small kitties.Highly recommend

Works, kind of.
We had an ant infestation this summer. Got this to keep the ants away from the dogs food. This didn’t work. The moat is pretty thin, and some ants get across anyway. Pretty useless.

ANT PROOF, but not KITTEN PROOF!
Our mini hell-panthers are still able to flip these dishes all over and make a mess—and that’s how the ants get to their food!! And how water gets all over the floor and our kittens, which requires that we each are prepared at all times to towel off a kitten. If you have more well-behaved cats, you may not deal with the same issues that we do!We were able to find information on the internet that they were playing with their dishes, because they weren’t stimulated enough from play time annd/or interesting things….So, now, we play the red-laser game until it exhausts them every single day and THE DISHES WORK EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED with the small moat protecting the food from ants!If you can avoid kittens and, instead can adopt fully-grown cats, we would definitely recommend that approach. If, additionally, you have ants, we absolutely recommend these dishes!

Most is small
The bowl is a good size for my cat but the Moat is pretty small and if your cat is a sloppy eater and spills cat food in the Moat then the moat gets plugged and the ants get into the bowl again. Plan on cleaning and refilling the Moat every day.

Works like magic
I have been feeding a feral cat for past 2 years and this summer the bowl was repeatedly overrun with ants. I tried putting the bowl inside a dish with water which helped somewhat and sprinkled diatomaceous earth which worked but was messy. I had low expectations this would work but it did. From the first day I put it out, have not seen ANY ants in or around the dish. I am so pleased I just purchased a 2nd one.
