It's not carved from amethyst.
It's basically a plastic owl that's filled with amethyst tumblestone that gives it its colour. It's nice enough, and it contains amethyst, it's not made from it, though. It is cutely designed, though, and I must admit it's growing me, especially the eyes. It was an interesting idea to make a translucent plastic figure, and stuff it with amethyst bonded by more clear plastic - it doesn't rattle! The result is an interesting colour and texture.
