Only works on clear material or surface repairs
I ordered the “malakalo Glue Pen with UV Light Resin Kit Liquid Adhesive Fast Cure Plastic Welder Light Curing for Home Super Glue LED Light & Liquid Cartridge” to review and to try UV glue for the first time to repair some items. I’ve never tried UV glue previously and I think I got it confused with CA glue. I love the concept of being able to hold and set something without the glue drying while working on it. I like the fact that the UV light does activate the curing process but the problem occurs when the light cannot actually reach the glue in the repair; like when opaque items are glued together. The light cannot penetrate through the items so the glue never hardens on the inside, only what remains on the outside. I don’t like that this glue is light duty at best. I do a lot of glue repairs and I have dozens of glues I would choose over this glue for most repairs. Odds are that a few repairs will call for this type of glue but the remaining mystery is what is this glue’s shelf life? Only time will tell. 3 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️– Average to Below Average – A bit less than what you would expect based on the Product Page. Left feeling somewhat disappointed. Sticky business!
I glued some toothpicks together in positions that would otherwise be nearly impossible with standard glue. They held together well, but it's not structural. I wouldn't try gluing your bumper on with the stuff. For models or small projects, it's perfect. I like how it's self-contained and the light head acts as a cap. Be careful when opening it because some started coming out. It wasn't much and I was able to wipe it off, but just be aware of that. The UV definitely accelerates curing. Once they were initially stuck using the UV light, I was able to let go and keep the UV light on it for a little longer to make sure it had cured completely. It's barely tacky, but seems to be a little flexible immediately after. It should stiffen up completely given a bit more time.

Glue is good. UV light not so much.
I used this to seal a seam on a wood project. Gel like glue flowed easily. Tucked it into the seam with a toothpick, added sawdust and more glue, and exposed it to the UV light. This little light sent with this glue is not very high powered and would take forever, so I used another UV light and could literally see the glue react and harden. Sanded my seam down within minutes and was very pleased with how it held. I would recommend the glue but not the light.

Super Glue that is UV Activated Provides Plenty of Time to Position Pieces
Basically this is super glue that will get activated when UV light is shined on it. This allows for precision attachment of parts you want to glue together. Super glue is convenient instant glue. The downside is how fast the glue set up. For certain operations, the ultra quick drying time for common super glue is too fast. Additionally, when you are trying to hurry and align the pieces, you will often get some on your skin and on other surfaces that you didn't want the glue on.Now with this UV activated glue, you can have much more time to precisely place parts together. Additionally, you can easily wipe off excess from surfaces that you don't want the glue on. Then when everything is ready, just shine the UV light on it.Another great benefit is that the unused glue in the tube keeps well. I wrap mine in a plastic bag and store it in the refrigerator. Even when I did this with other super glues, once the tube is opened, it begins to oxidize and the glue has a very short shelf life. With this product, the glue oxidizes slowly allowing it to have a much longer shelf life.

It Did Okay, Not Great. But Was Very Convenient
I recently used this on a project using some soft, craft wood. It held okay but not as I hoped it would have. I was gluing some edges together and they are not as strong as I had hoped. This type of glue is very convenient though as there is very little wait time involved before a seal is formed and cured. That made the project go faster as I could then move on the the next step without the extra wait time.

Glue Pen with UV light
I had high hopes for the malakalo Glue Pen with UV Light Resin Kit, but unfortunately, it didn't work well at all. The idea of a liquid adhesive that cures with UV light seemed promising, but the execution fell short. The glue did not provide a strong bond, and the UV light didn't seem to have the desired effect. It was frustrating to have a product that didn't live up to its claims. I had to resort to other adhesive solutions for my needs. Disappointing, to say the least.

Just ok, interesting concept, refills hard to find
This is an interesting concept, but didn't work for most things I tried it on. I tried to fix a few plastic toys, a potty training chair, among other things. The biggest issue I have is that in order to get a firm adhesion and cure, much of the area being repaired must be exposed to the light. If you are fixing a surface crack, it does ok. But for a clean break, there isn't a way to cure the resin that is actually in-between the two pieces, so the repair is pretty brittle. My fixes didn't last long and I had the same or better luck with regular super glue. For certain applications this could work for you.I also had a hard time finding any refills for this brand.
