Peak Design PLD2 Dual V2 Tout Capture Platform

This is the plate that I have been waiting for. It is a little more low profile than the old capture plate and this one will fit on both arca-style adapters and the Manfrotto quick release adapters. It also still fits in the Peak Design capture as well.I use this with the Manfrotto quick release plates on the Zhiyun Crane and my tripod and it works great. There is no wiggle or play at all! It is also much sleeker than the Manfrotto plate, which is a plus.If you use Peak Design products like the slide, or clutch, or cuff in conjunction with Manfrotto quick release plates, you will definitely not be disappointed with this plate.

I purchased my first V2 plate for my Nikon D7200 and I've been very impressed. When I bought another camera, this was one of the first pieces of gear I bought to go with the new camera. It fits well and keeps the camera very stable. Like all Peak Designe gear, it is a quality product.

It's smaller, lighter, and in my opinion, better-looking (if that matters any) than any dedicated RC2 or Arca Swiss plate I've seen.Sadly it is not toolless. A thumb-screw would be greatly appreciated.I will likely await the much-needed update before replacing my remaining single-use plates.Update.Some weeks ago it struck me that I could switch screws with two Sinnofoto Arca Swiss plates (from R1 & Q-08 heads). It worked!While the experience is much improved (for positioning) , a coin or key head is essential to fully secure the plate. See additional images.

Poor fit for RC2 heads. It is too short in width, meaning that the plate does not fit plumb in the head’s receiver. I am left wondering if my gear will wiggle out of the tripod head now, since you can see that it is barely secure. Considering returning because it now defeats the purpose of why I purchased this. Ultimately, I am frustrated to at Manfrotto doesn’t have a plate that allows accessories like shoulder straps or hand grips, but I feel cheated by PD’s offering as an alternative.

unliken most of the plates came with the heads that offers a little pin or two to prevent unwanted skids,m or fall,I don’t see any secondary safety machanism thisPD plate provides in case the knob or the lever is accidentally open or not tightened appropriately.Other than that it works fine with PD’s string system and compatible with Arca Swiss clamps perfectly.For the PD system users, this is a must have although unfortunately it lacks a second security/safety assurance mechanism.

I recently ordered the Peak Design leash and really love the simple way to attach and detach the camera strap. While the leash and other Peak Design straps come with an adapter that screws into the tripod mount, i found it a pain to keep having to unscrew it and attach the tripod mount. With this mount, i don't have to as it has the mounting points for the Peak Design attachments and fits my tripod mount.it would be great if this was an option at the time I ordered the strap rather then the one that is included in the kit.

Love the product. Have had great success with the few Peak products I’ve purchased. All are well made, and will last a lifetime. Purchase of this was a small gamble that I lost on though. I have an “off” brand tripod, and the peak Dual Plate V2 is just a tinge wide to fit the mount. No bad on the part of the Peak team, but with the drawing specs provided I knew it would be close, but could go either way. No harm, I’ll be ording the recommended tripod ball mount shortly - problem solved!

Sturdy craftsmanship. Looking forward to using it. However, I purchased the V3 clip and plate. It didn't work with my tripod, so I bought this one next. It didn't work either, but my tripod is one of the kinds that must be altered. Vanguard was listed as one that would fit with these, but it didn't. So, I've now purchased a new Arca head for my tripod so I can use them.
